Session 39 - PT: To the Ends of Civilization Report

SESSION 39   9 SEP 2022   5 OCT 3024 Ǎ12 36288 Ê1   0515   The party will be able to make it to the dock area, but is again ambushed by 6 Dein. In the third round of combat, a higher ranking Dein named Raewald is among them. He is accompanied by 5 more raiders, but two of them are holding Cynleaf and Braun, the party's ship crew from Guelder, as hostages. He wants all of their money, or he will kill the hostages. The party doesn't respond in time, and Raewald kills them.   It is a bloody battle, and doesn't go well for our heros. They are surrounded and taking damage. Just when all seems lost, a great many horns sound, and the Dein flee. Kreigr's men have joined the battle and sounded their horns. Kreigr tells the party to board quickly, for Harald Bloodhair has gone back on his word, and is now sending men to stop them. They are able to get underway before Harald's men can board their boats and follow.   It takes a week's travel, but they make it to the remote shores of the frost giants. Harald's ships have been following at a distance, and Kreigr is anxious to get underway before Harald gains anymore ground on them. The party pays Kreigr, and his boat sails away, leaving them about 24 mils from the goat lands. He claims that the giants don't really take notice of people, and it can be very dangerous, as they don't watch out for little folk when they walk.   The party arrives at 4pm. They are curious as to why the area is not covered in snow, and it feels cool, but not cold.   About 15 minutes after landing, and scouting out the area, the party notices a large winter storm heading right for them. The session ends here.
