Session 24 - GEP: Parley With the Lord of Darkness Report

13 AUG 2021   14 SEP 3024 Ǎ12 36288 Ê1   0800     You have just had a mighty battle with Arami’el, your former ally, as he had succumbed to the elf stone.   Just when you thought that you had gained the upper hand, the room had been plunged into darkness, and Arami’el was taken, along with the elf stone.   You were invited to parley for the stone. The voice claimed it was the god Skotas, but you would have to find out where his lair is. You all have just risen from your qurters. You have gained the benefits of a long rest. It is 8am.   The party splits up.   Seren goes to the library, where she meets Nil’Rem Amuz, a stuck up and nerdy archivist who is quite smitten with her. She gets the Leh’Teh Maiden scroll, and a bunch of area maps. Nil’Rem lets her keep them. Nil’Rem suggests that Seren talk with Olorin, who can give her information about the Rephim.   Yendaya goes to Un Atsocoj and asks for diamonds for the Revivify spell. She is give (4) diamonds that will work with the spell.   Clara went to pray and purify in Bazi’el’s chapel.   Ranmin helps the local blacksmith out.   Seren then meets up with everyone and heads to Olorin.   Olorin gives Seren information about Ice Brother, the frost giants, and the Jotun goats. He also tells her the same information about Fire brother, Sky brother, and Tempest brother that she got from the Mor’Rahg brothers.   In passing she sees a scroll on his chair that mentions Skotas’ name. When asked about it he informs her of him. (See World Anvil). He was writing a biography on the god, and visited him in his abode. While the god was carrying on about his vast experiments, Olorin fell asleep and yoked the wrath of the god. He is able to Teleport the party to Skotas, but can’t accompany them. He gives Yendaya a scroll to Teleport them back, which also consumes the scroll.   Once Ranmin is done with his blacksmith duties, they return to parley with Skotas.   The Teleportation is successful. They see Skotas sitting on a large throne. He is huge. Also, to his right, is Aramiel. His skin is now blue and his eyes are red. He seems to be in some sort of trance.   Skotas informs them that he saved Arami’el by turning him into a hobgoblin, which may or may not be permanent. As a hobgoblin, the stone no longer has power over him. Arami’el is hazy and out of it as a byproduct of the procedure. He is returned to the party.   To obtain the elf stone back, they must do him a favor. He has long wanted to supplant Hesh Ra’Ahn as lord of the underworld. He is willing to help them deal with her, and get the elf stone back, if they will travel to the underworld and fill an amphora with water from the River of Souls. He warns them not to spill it or get any on them, as it can be deadly to the living. The only time they can do this, is on the winter solstice.   Introducing Piety and Corruption Points   Seren & Rossuli pledge themselves to help him, and gain Piety points with him and the first level granted to them. Clara and Ranmin have piety points with Baziel, and also gain benefits. Everyone else just agree to go with the party.   The party takes corruption points. 2 Points for the betrayal of their friend, and 2 more from seeing the state he is now in. Seren and Yendaya have also gained 5 corruption points for the destruction of the elven kingdoms.   Yendaya is able to Teleport the party back successfully to the Citadel Mess Hall. The time is 2pm.   Everyone gains:   1000XP for the session 1000XP for excellent roleplaying 1000XP for successfully parleying with a god
