Session 10: The Crossroads Report

20 SEP 2019   26 AUG 3024 Ǎ12 36288 Ê1     The session picks up with the party finding a wrecked caravan after their battle with the mountain trolls.   The caravan appears to have been a camp of a dwarvish caravan. The mountain trolls have scavenged for food and ended up eating 4 dwarves along with all of their provisions.   After destroying the threat, the players find a trail and follow it easily. The is the smell of a campfire burning up the trail. Bucar will try and convince the party that they need to find the mountain troll lair. It leads up a trail to a cave. Outside the cave is a large cooking pot hanging over a smoldering fire. The dire wolves and giant are just inside the cave.   The party met a Rogue: Thief spying on the camp. He gets the drop on the party and turns out to be stalking the troll camp and will help the party. He is Erik's, Bellamy's nephew, character. He reveals that there are also a pack of gnolls in the cave.   A noise draws the attention of the baddies in the cave, so a fight begins. The party defeats the foes and the Clara's shield begins to glow. Baziel Asteri, Clara's patron, appears and gives the party a message.   The Rogue finds (2) dwarven merchants tied up and unconscious inside the cave. They were to be the troll's dinner. They are Argli and Runiol. They have knowledge of how to get into the mountain king's fortress and have agreed to help the party.   The dwarves reveal that the dwarven king was been driven mad by the Elven crystal. He has been holding all types of elves hostage for years to get back at King Man'duas. The dwarven kings holds some sort of magic sway over dwarves.   Bucar reveals that he is not really a ranger from Alteria, but is in fact a member of the Crimson Order sent to gather information about the inner kingdoms. His real name is Tristan Al'ishtar. He shows them his King's Cadre Phoenix Saber and Crimson Order dagger as proof. He also reveals his true nature, level 10 Ranger. He says that he must leave the party and warn the Citadel, the Crimson Order's fortress in the Wilds, of the danger to Zafeiri.   They have a lot to process. Tristan promises to discuss more in the morning.   Everyone goes to sleep.
