Districts

Tallinn is divided into 8 districts. Pohja-Tallinn, Kesklinn, Kristiine, Haabersti, Mustamae, Nomme, Lasnamae, and Pirita. Pohja-Tallinn is the centre of the city, where most government buildings and other important buildings in the city are located.

History

Tallinn first appeared on a map in 1154. It would not become an important location until 1919 when it became the capital of Estonia. It later of the Capitol of the Terran Empire following Charles I's coup in 2117, which it would remain as until 2159. It continues to be a city of regional importance in northeastern Europe and the capital of Province of Estonia, a region of the European Union.

Points of interest

Tallinn´s buildings of interest are usually hundreds of years old, such as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and St. Olaf´s Church. The historic downtown is a reconstruction of the downtown as built between the 13th and 16th centuries, although most original buildings have been lost. A ways away from the center of the city is the Kadriorg Art Museum, which served as the palace of the Terran Emperors between 2118- 2159, The Palace of the Governor of Estonia under the P.T.I. until 2175, and now restored to an Art Museum.

Geography

Tallinn is located in Estonia, the northernmost region of the Baltic States in Europe, along the Baltic sea's Gulf of Finland. The Pirita river flows through the city. Forest surrounds the city and much of the city is built around the forest, but the Northern part of the city is built don't he Shore of the Gulf of Finland, itself part of the Baltic Sea.
