Myth and Urban Legends about Werewolves
Remus and Romulus where suckled as infants by a she-wolf in Ancient Roman Mythology.
When
King Amulius ordered the death of the twin brothers by abandoning them by the river Tiber, they escaped their fate being rescued by their nursemaid, a
werewolf by the name of
Accia Larentia. She was found, hiding in a cave now know as the
Lupercal nursing the twins, by a
human shepherd called
Faustulus who took the young werewolf maiden as his wife and raised the twins as his own sons. It is said his nickname for her was
Lupa.
Werewolves transform into monsters during the nights of the full moon.
Traditionally,
werewolves would hold their war councils and conduct major raids during the nights of the full moon.
Werewolves can only be killed by silver bullets.
The metallurgical nature of silver makes it a poor choice for weapon usage in general. Should someone manage to score a solid hit with a silver bullet, it is possible that it will fragment in a manner that removing each individual piece of shrapnel will be difficult.
Werewolves are the result of humans mating with wolves.
This also is a long standing racist myth with no basis in truth similar to a woman who is not a witch will be lighter than a bible when weighed.
