It began, as many zombie stories do, with a pandemic. An engineered virus, a newly discovered fungi or a supernatural magic that revived the dead into a twisted version of themselves, hungry for flesh and tireless. During the few hours of a moonless night, it spread across the world like a dreadful wave of death. Midnight.
The world woke up dizzy and missing several limbs. Numerous capitals had collapsed, death roamed everywhere and most armies had been overrun before even having time to react at all. The old world came to a brutal end, and with it nearly all life on Earth. Yet, the clock is still ticking. We are still here, trying to live long enough to see the dawn. One second after another, we survive.
