Lot's of Loth's Trammel
Desyatina is a slave based economy and as with all slave societies there is an entrenched obsession of control. The Desyatina, in all their cruelty, created Loth's Trammel in an attempt to solve their need to control their slave population. It is within the nature of obsessions, especially if it is entrenched, that it is unsolvable. Although Loth's Trammel is a highly effective item to control slaves; it has not stopped the continual pursuit to have complete control over a slave. This has lead to several different types of trammels, similar to modern home security systems. -Osnovatel' Nenadzhnogo RasskachikaLoth's Trammel, Lot's Cuffs, or also known as a slavemark has been around for generations, even for elves, so the pursuit for perfection has produced a wide range of types and affects. The basic format has not really changed. A slave is fitted with a metal cuff and a long nail is pounded from the top, through the forearm of the slave, and then bent at the bottom preventing the cuff from opening. Obviously, there are healers nearby to protect this investment, that is, if they are highly priced slaves. Additionally, there is a Gvos-day (master focus) where commands are issued from that will affect the slave through their trammel. Because this slave devise has been around for a long time and its development is based in economic system; the variants are based on cost, or how much the slaver/owner wishes to spend. Here are the affects that can be achieved with a Loth's Trammel:
- Inflict Pain (50gp per Cuff and Gvos-day): As a Bonus Action, you may try to inflict 1D8 psychic damage to anyone wearing a Trammel within 80 feet of you while holding a Gvos-day, the targets make a WIS save verses your CHR DC (10+CHR modifier-if you are a caster based on CHR, then you may add your Prof Bonus to the DC.) If the targets succeed, they take 1/2 Damage. AD HOC: If this damage reduces a slave to 0 HPs, then they are unconscious, not dead. A slaver can up the psychic damage by a D8, by paying an additional 50 Gp per Cuff and Gvos-day. If they do this, this is always the damage inflicted to the slave wearing the Trammel; even if there is another Gvos-day inflicting pain.
- Make an Example (10gp per Cuff and Gvos-day): Same as Inflict Pain, but you target only one slave. The slave takes twice (2xD8) of psychic damage as invested in Inflict Pain.
- Elemental Threat (50gp per cuff and Gvos-day): When using Inflict Pain or Make an Example, you add one D8 of additional damage from different type; either, cold, fire, force, lighting, necrotic, radiant, or thunder. Ad Hoc: This additional damage negates the unconscious Ad Hoc of Inflict Pain. The masters holds death over their slaves.
- Limited Linked (x2gp per cuff and Govsdar'): Slaves are only effected by the single master holding the Govsdar'. Slaves are unaffected by other masters holding their own Govsdar'.
- Attunement (x3gp per cuff and Govsdar'): This requires attunement to anyone whom holds the Govsdar'. A form of magical protection against slaves.
- Times per day (x10gp for every additional three per day): The standard "charges" is three times per day (midnight.) Many slavers, based on their trades, needs to make a few more examples. So, they invest in more charges than effects. This investment increases their Govsdar' actions.
