Watercolors on canvas   A depiction of the village of Springs Rest viewed from the west. Abeni visited the town when they were seventeen years old on a trip to heal and lay the dead to rest under the supervision of their mentor Zaldaris Esol. A depiction of North Market Street in Springs Rest near the oasis but facing away from it. Abeni chose to focus on the inside of the town and its people as opposed to its skyline and surrounding area as with previous works. It underlined Abeni’s focus on the creatures as the subjects of beauty and importance along with the things that they build instead of a more sterile perspective from afar.   Personal collection of Abeni/Ekundayo Laramar.
