Jan Everton Rosay, a Pre-Rathsburg painter, drew inspiration for his work from his own life and experiences. In 'Perfection' he stands at the centre of his own family as they look upon him adoringly, inspired by Larimus' description of a perfect home. In Rosay's own written interpretation, he states that the perfect home is not made of bricks and mortar, but love and respect.
