When Dragons became near extinct in the early 1600s AM from the bounties placed on their head, Sara Dragonmist, the leader of the Fareie Race, created the Order of the Dragon Keepers. These were recruited from the rare Fearies who are born without wings and unable to fly. As they have no wings, the Faes would never have been fully accepted in most Faerie communities. At a very Young age a Dragon Keepsr is paired with her Dragon and is charged to protect the Dragon with any means needed for the rest of her life. The pair often live in completed seclusion for both of their safety.
