Episode 2: Snakes and Barbarans Report

General Summary

Five party members awakened to a new day in Portorosso, while the remainder seem set to sleep forever!  Remy, Roger, Ikki and Chippy make their way down to the main floor of the "Gleaming Dolphin Inn", while Nayis remains upstairs to tend to Captain Rex (hungover).    The party orients to their situation, most notably, that food in prohibitively expensive but that lodging will be  "covered" as long as they need.   Soon, they hear ruckus outside as people run by the window toward the center of town armed with farming tools and improvised weapons.      Town Square On investigation it appears that the statue of Ursula in the town square has been vandalized and the alleged vandal, a young boy, has been apprehended in a net.  Tensions are high and it looks like a melee could break out at any moment!  Ikki, decides she has had enough.  She casts a spell to make magic ammunition, gives one shot to Chippy and moves to engage the guards (snake men).    The fight that breaks out, ends quickly, with 3 dead villagers, Chippy in a net, Remy fully constricted and the captured boy unconscious.  Important to note that Ikki knocked the boy out by accident.  The snake men sneer at the party but do not see them as a large enough threat to bother finishing off.  The demand that the party remove the offending graffiti and move along.     Magic Shoppe Althelos Cleves agrees to sell Chippy a Mermaid Princess voice in a bottle for 200gp if she investiages what has come of Althelos' missing brother.  He is a wizard that left town 6 months ago, frustrated with a lack of courage in this town to free themselves.    Farm Defence Captain Rex ordered the party to "go get some money".  He didn't give any specifics other than that, but clearly things there are BIG opportunities for people like the party in this desperate town.      Henry (Hank) Wheatflow is a local wheat farmer who needs help getting food into town. He is raided almost every night.   The party agrees to help him for payment in food.    After some investigation at the Wheatflow Farm the party sets up an ambush for the raiders.  Things go sideways when they learn it is a moonless night and no one can see.  Players all follow the sounds of Ikki being stabbed in the dark.    The Barbarans, were driven off leaving one of their minions behind.  A bold little liar named Bah-Ehk.
