Hunting Wyvern's Part 1
General Summary
Several of the newest members arrive at the Hunter's Home Guild house prepared to accept a new quest. They decide that hunting the wyvern plaguing Sollick's Rest will be best. Trainer Jenkins calls them over and introduces himself, telling them they can hire other guild members to join them in case they do not think they have enough firepower. They decide to hire Cug the Thug. Before they leave the are given two healing potions each by Shekon Alpacre .
Jenkins rents them horses for 10 gold pieces, along with a 5 gold deposit. Vokun attempts to rent a horse for cheaper, unfortunately, Jenkins only gives him a donkey named Phillipe. Vokun tricks Cug to take the donkey who the party is surprised to discover can actually speak! With mounts acquired, the party heads out to Sollick's Rest on the 12th day of the Orange Moon in the year 750 AM.
The night begins to fall on the day as the four reach the village. They begin their adventure by asking a local farmer where the head woman, Treesapper, is; he directs them, and once they find her they begin to interrogate her about the creature that was spotted. According to her, and Warrick, the creature was large enough to pick up a cow had at least two legs, and a long tail. Warrick tells the party that the creature was very large. Straxtall proceeds to buy one of Warrick's sheep, whose name was #6 before the party changed it to UNIT.
Preparing for the night everyone begins to settle in for camping. Straxatall meets a woman who he doesn't know the name of, but who is sharpening a stake. She says that her husband is cheating on her with a woman named Felicity. After talking for a little bit, she mentions there is a local herb that when crushed can lure the wyvern to where it is sprinkled.
13th day of the Orange Moon in the year 750 AM
The party is awoken by the sounds of a man's scream; rushing down the street the see a man emerging from a house with a stake through his groinal area. Vokun tries to tackle him in order to heal him but misses. The goliath cleric chases after him. Straxatall speaks to the woman from the night prior and finds out that she (obviously) did it. He cleans the blood from her hands using prestidigitation and as a thank you, she gives him 3 vials of antitoxin. Vokun heals Pog's wounds in exchange for his promise that he will never be unfaithful again.
With the information gained and adventure ahead, the party heads out to find the Wyvern. The only knowledge they know about where the wyvern could be is that it is in the north, possibly by the hills. The party all goes hunting for bait, D'har captures a live goat by slamming its head into the ground, while Vokun tolls the dead on a baby doe, and Cug absolutely brains a badger.
They set the trap and down swoops the Wyvern. Everyone, except Vokun, does a good job hiding and battle ensues. Vokun does a good hit but is brought down in one blow of the wyvern's jaws and stinger. He gets the last laugh as he uses thunder in retribution. Cug forces him to drink a potion. D'har comes in punching and tries to grapple the large beast. Straxatall uses the catapult spell with efficiency but he also fails at Jin's Magic Missiles. The adventurers seem to have the battle in hand but they forgot one simple thing. Wyvern's can fly! It disengages from battle and flies home, disappearing into a cave.
