The Lost Son report

General Summary

Session 1

The session begins with the party exploring the lair of the Wyvern. They find some gold, a wand of conducting, a dragon vessel of stirring, and some potions of healing. With the loot gathered, the party heads back to the Hutner's Home Guildhouse. There, they put in some orders for new supplies and a room for the night, sell the parts of the wyvern that they harvested, and select a new mission.

The next morning the party is having breakfast before heading out and they notice that "The Quiet Knight" is paying close attention to them. Strax goes up to talk to him but the Tepac teleports away. Before they leave, the party hires Allan the Spy to join them for a flat rate of 200 gold pieces. THey also insight that he is lying about his name.

Drew, the only son of the Augisto family has gone missing and his parents are worried about him. The Augisto family are reclusive nobles who have gained their money through land deals and as landlords.

The party speaks to Salmonius and Zena about their son. Salmonius says he was learning to become a cleric and often spent a lot of time in the woods. Where as Zena believes her son has been going into town more and returned one time with a strange statue of an aberration. The butler overheard the delivery people say that the artist who designed the statue was a man named Sokar. The butler, Drummond, also said that one time he found Mr. Fibbles the cat, deceased in Drew's room, and Zena was not 'perturbed" by this fact.

Investigating Drew's Room, they find a dagger that Allan recognizes to be the work of Ignassio the blacksmith. They also find a diary with a strange cipher on it. They realize that the "V" has to either be a or I and begin translating it. Once it is fully translated they discover that Drew hid a clue to the entrance of where he is in one of his mothers rhodadendran plants and grew some "leafkiller" mushrooms if he ever needed it again. Locating the mushrooms, and getting 2 doses of it. Using it they find a scroll that is blank. Slowly, a message begins to appear, "When the Bear drinks Red, Green, and purple the way to strength will open." Along with the holy symbol of Marwen.

Session 2

The party decides to head out to the Blacksmith Ignasio and find him in his shop, Fire Art in the Industry District. He is a purple skinned Soul-bound with curved horns indicating his infernal heritage. They show him the dagger that Drew had commissioned and discovered that the noble man picked it up 8 days prior. Ignasio also remarked that he saw the man coming out of a nearby abandoned building that was owned by the family.

The party went to investigate with Allan the Spy opening the locked door. Within they discovered that there was a dwarf sculptor. He grew quite irate when he discovered them in his workshop and demanded they leave. There was a short debate about who was trespassing; and Zara attempted to use suggestion on the dwarf. He resisted and dropped his polymorph spell, revealing himself to be a Gauth.

A challenging fight ensued with Allan being paralyzed for one minute, Strax fell asleep, and Tiny got stunned. Fortunately they managed to defeat the gauth. Searching the chambers Strax found a scroll and Tiny broke open a locked door; only to be hit with a poisoned crossbow bolt. Inside the bed chambers they found a bear rug. In the workshop there were some paints and they managed to mix them together in the correct order. The mouth of the bear opens wide and reveals a dark staircase.

Down the stairs the party finds a strange dungeon, and two of its inhabitants in a greenery room. While they appear to be human they seem to have "modifications". One had spider legs instead of his arms and the other one had two heads. After these two mongrelfolk are defeated the party inspects the plants known as Jambu plants which are used in medicines. Tiny also finds pouches filled with creature parts.

Down another corridor they go and find a locked door. When Allan tries to open the door he fails and a spear descends from the ceiling and strikes him. Tiny ends up ripping the spear from the ceiling when they do not manage to unlock the door after several attempts. Inside they found a bedchamber and D'har was attacked by an invisible stalker.

Session 3

Starting off with an attack by the invisible stalker, the fight ensues. Right off the bat its advantage is taken away by Zara's use of Faerie Fire. The fight is still difficult , especially when Zara is downed and her concentration is broken. Fortunately, the newest member of the team, Olid, also has Faerie Fire and the party defeats the stalker. In the bed chamber the party finds two secret doors and a staircase!

Through one of the doors they find the Organ Harcesting Chamber along with notes about the alchemic, religious, and arcane process of creature parts onto other creatures. Continueing on they try to sneak into a chamber but fail, finding a mongrelfolk opening a series of cages. A bearded devil giant spider, and a gibbering mouther all emerge from the cages and another fight ensues. Allan dies during the fight and a several of the party are greatly wounded and deflated. After the fight the party finds the body of Zena Agisto, decaying for about two weeks.

The party carries Allan's and Zena's body out and begin to head back to the guild.
