Session 01: Delivery of Goods Report

General Summary

The adventure begins in The Mayflower within the mess hall. Captain Ivan Volkov gives a speech that under Lord Zor von Finklestein they are to get this old boat to port in Al Nuzied. The adventurers learn the ships is filled to the brim with food, and supplies. Rothgar also remembers hearing rumors of a creature known as The Maw. A great creature that stalks the Yearning Expanse. Captain Volkov quickly has the crew and ship leave port in attempt to stay ahead of the storm that is coming in. The crew is as follows First Mate Nickolva, the cook Calixto, the Bo 'sun Owin Smallfoot, and the navigator Daylar Wavestalker.   They manage to stay ahead of the storm for a couple days however they are soon over taken and are now having to battle the very volatile weather. On the evening of the second day when the adventurers are trying to eat what is being passed as food, the doors bang open and the First Mate Nickolva enters. She informs the Captain that they have lost the helm they need assistance. The adventurers follow Captain Volkov to the poop deck while Rothgar and Hanz quickly decides to move to the railing to keep an eye out for any creatures moving below the waves.   The rest of the party follows the Captain and they learn the tiller rope has snapped. The Captain mutters "What are the chances of that?" He is quick to take action though. He orders the navigator to repair the tiller rope, the Bo sun to retie the main mast sails as they are coming loose, and the First mate to raise the sails on the forecastle. The party splits up to help the First Mate and the Navigator. They are both successful in doing so and manage to get things back in order. Unfortunately the Bo 'sun is not so lucky. The sails tear and send him overboard into the stormy seas. He is quickly swept away out of sight.   The adventurers gather back on the poop deck to where Captain Ivan Volkov is stationed. He orders the crew to check on the passengers in the back cabins that have kept to themselves. He then orders the adventurers to batten down the cargo before any of it gets damaged. Rothgar brings up The Maw however Captain Volkov quickly dismisses it as and "old wives tale".
