Session 07: Days of Summer Report

General Summary

The party awakes the next morning and discusses their plans for the day. With a possible revelation from a note that Rothgar found that the Lighthouse of Drac could be a part of the Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign's activities within Freeport they decide they should investigate it after visiting Freland Shipyard. As they move to the main deck of the Rancor they are met by Nickolva who says her final good byes.   Not long after they are met by Alashna Ravonich who informs the party they can bring the prisoners onboard the Rancor to the Freeport's Shrine of Otarr. Where they can be fairly judged by the God of Order. She learns the prisoners have escaped and that Zynoe Sicosh was behind it. She is quite upset at this. She informs the party she will be staying at the shrine to assist the local clergy as this city could use the help. The party also gives her a run down on the Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign and what they have learned. She promises if she hears anything she will inform the party.   The party decides it is best to have breakfast before they set sail and head to the Bilge Rat. However Jorin stays behind to help guard the ship not wanting to leave Green Pate alone aboard. The party who does go have a quick breakfast, return to the Rancor and begin to get her ready to set sail across the busy docks.   Elitessa is able to skillfully navigate the shipping lanes and brings the ship into Freland Shipyard. There they are hailed by Brother Egil and a man they come to know as Silas Freland. The owner of the massive shipyard they have found themselves at. Elitessa brings the Rancor into the dry docks however she ends up clipping the side of the ship leaving a new scratch on the ship. The party and Green Pate are directed to a side office where they are all served coffee, and dainties. Jorin is quite thankful as he ended up skipping breakfast. Here they learn their ship is worth quite a pretty penny 16,000 GP to be exact. Hearing this the party is quite thankful they got the ship for free. It takes roughly 2 hours for the Rancor to be inspected. Silas Freland informs the party the repairs will cost 950 GP with their discount thanks to Brother Egil. He agrees with the party to take half payment now and the other half upon completion of the repairs that will take 3 weeks. Unfortunately the party will no longer be able to stay aboard the Rancor as free accommodations and as such Brother Egil comes to the rescue once more and lets them know he can get them a discount at a good inn.   The party quickly asks Silas if he has a spare boat they can borrow for the day. However he informs the party he doesn't exactly have boats to rent out. He just builds and repairs them to order. The party then follow Egil to a inn called the The Scholar's Quill just on the border of the Temple District and Drac's End. Here they are met by a motherly figure known as Desi who gives them a room and included breakfast and supper for 1 gp per night, instead of the regular 2 gp. With their lodging and food secure. The party decides it is now time to investigate Lighthouse of Drac.   Traveling across the city back to The Docks of Freeport they manage to find a barge that offers them free passage if they help load and unload building materials destined for the lighthouse. Agreeing to this albeit somewhat reluctantly they help out. It takes them an hour to help load, 30 minutes to sail across the bay, then a further hour to unload. They then head up to the tower now that they are free. The manage to walk right up with no problems as most of the workers are not paying much attention to them. They decide to investigate the area around the cliffside down by the water where they hope to find any hidden entrances. An hour and a half of searching find nothing out of the ordinary.    They then make their way back up to the lighthouse and decide to go inside to look around. They are finally stopped by some workers who realize they should not be entering. However Rothgar is quick to deceive them and tell them they are from the Union. The workers quickly realize by Union they must mean the Longshoremen's Union. They decide it is best not to mess with the party and let them continue as they will. The party then spends some time investigating the lighthouse however despite the searching and casting of Detect Magic. They find nothing of suspicion. Another red hearing perhaps? The party is not sure but they realize nothing else can be found here.    Realizing the time they quickly make their way back to the private dock and take a boat back to The Docks of Freeport. They quickly make their way back to The Scholar's Quill for supper however they end up being an hour late. Desi gives the party a disapproving motherly stare. She still ends up feeding the party despite them being almost 30 minutes late. Albeit the food is slightly cold now.
