Session 13: Bianka's Monster Report

General Summary

The party interrogates their prisoners and learn a few useful pieces of info. Bianka Altanish is a wizard who is trying to create a flesh golem to see if she can achieve immortality by transferring a soul to the new host. They also learn a bunch of undead have broken free of containment and roam the right hallway. With this info Alashna Ravonich says her and the paladins will charge the undead while the party goes to apprehend Bianka Altanish. Hanz and Rothgar decide to help Alashna and the paladins leaving the apprehending of the wizard to the rest of the party.   The party begins to venture into the left wing. The patients here are clearly mad and are incoherent with what they are trying to say. The party pushes forward and they find themselves at the top of the southern tower in front of an iron door. The sound of electricity coming from the other side. Ganbold decides to push into the room, stealth be damned. On the other side of the door the party finds a laboratory filled with books and equipment. A human woman whom the party soon figures out must be Bianka Altanish, and a seven foot tall beast of a creature with feminine features. A flesh golem. Her current experiment.   The battle is ferocious. The party is completely pushed back. However in their time of need Rothgar appears as he had a bad feeling and decides it would be best to help his friends. With his clerical spells bringing much needed healing to the party, and a well placed silence spell by Elitessa they are able to bear arms once more against the creature and the wizard. They realize that the magical orbs in the room are shocking the flesh golem with lightning causing it to heal before their eyes. They party quickly goes about destroying the spheres, manage to capture Bianka Altanish before she could escape and remove her from the room. The flesh golem with the mind of effectively a child trying to protect it's mother tries to follow and protect her, but between Ganbold, Diala, and Rothgar they put the poor creature out of it's misery. Sending whatever tortured soul it might possess to The Seven.   With Bianka Altanish now in Jorin's custody, he returns to the main hall to Alashna Ravonich, soon followed by the rest of the party once they check for anything of use within the laboratory. Alashna Ravonich is quite happy the party followed her request in taking her alive and they return to Freeport's Shrine of Otarr where Bianka is placed within a prison cell where she will be kept until she can stand trial. The party returns to The Scholar's Quill after some light pleasantries with Alashna and have a well deserved sleep.   The party has a few days to themselves now, some work on their skills, some do research, and some carouse the city. Ganbold however decides to investigate Horus's Leap. He learns a few things of note. The pirates who guard the place take the day's proceedings to Sweet Dreams Gambling House through a back door. They remain for a while, leave and return to Horus's Leap. Some digging around Ganbold learns that Sweet Dreams Gambling House is owned and operated by a half-elf named Glajren Helkerna. He runs protection through most of the businesses throughout Scurvytown and he is considered quite popular among the citizens of the district.   After a few days the party realizes The Rancor's repairs are complete and they go first thing after breakfast to collect it. The repairs went of without a hitch and they move the vessel back to the docks. Now fully crewed it is ready to sail once more. However not long after docking they receive a message from Egil he is in trouble. And he requests the party to help him once more. He will provide more details that night over dinner at The Scholar's Quill.
