Session 63: Pride or Duty?

General Summary

13th Tormale   As the party was examing the enhanced man, the 'synthetic' as they had termed him, they noticed a figure walk into the cavern — Lord Pride. He looked about in contemplation, taking in his fallen fellow mage and the crushed body of the synthetic. While for a moment it seemed like he might merely be confused by the sight he had stumbled upon, it soon became clear that he was involved. He talked about how the party had set them back, but the important work was finished and would be carried forward regardless. He talked of a coming end of this cycle, how the people must be carried forward to the next one, how they were finding the means to protect them through the flood. He talked about the neccesary evil needed to survive.   As he talked, the party moved to incapacitated but he caught them and reacted faster. He fought back, pulling magic from his flesh and that of his enemies to fuel his spells beyond their usual limits. Fire, blood, and steel all flew through air as the screams of the living and dying echoed through the caverns. Ekke summoned a wall of flames to block the exit, engulfing several of the enemy mercenaries and lesser mages, but Pride broke through and nearly reached the exit teleportation rune before Falk echoed through the flames and caught him.
