Session 5: New Dog, Same Tricks
General Summary
The Party endeavored to better ingratiate themselves in Plague-Mort by talking with some locals. Danahra went a more traditional route by approaching the bartender, Shazire . She was able trade some Material Plane gold for a bottle of delicious wine, as well as a room for the party that has to be locked using a conjured key. Pyxis went a less traditional route by speaking with a cranium rat named Carey, who gave Pyxis some helpful information about who to trust to get the Party to Sigil. Carey, however, was a newly awakened rat and didn't have many answers, but she's passed Pyxis's information along to her hivemind for further help. Harding had considered talking with other patrons, though decided against it after seeing some more intimidating faces. Once they all converged at the table again, the Party agreed to have Zangrim help them, and the fey quickly set off to find aid.
After Zangrim was gone, the Party headed upstairs to have more privacy. The conversation took a sharp turn as Danahra took a more serious tone and showed the others her arm - the one taken over by the Order titan. Pyxis and Harding immediately had an avalanche of questions, though they had to be cut off once the bartender alerted them that their reservation was ready. Going downstairs, the Party found a hooded Alosori Nightriddle who offered to help the Party go to Sigil on the next ship - in exchange for a favor. The Alosori is highly suspicious of Plague-Mort's leader, Archlector Bex, as she believes he is corrupt but has no proof. So if the Party can break into the Archlector's manor tomorrow night and gather proof of his corruption, then the Alosori will guarantee them immediate, safe travel out of here. And each party member got 50 jink out of the deal.
In preparation for the event, the Party went to visit the other stores and scout out the manor. Harding got to work at the Iron Maiden with Ferror to plate Pyxis's armor in glass. Danahra had Pyxis help her blend in as she sent Agni into the manor through a chimney. Agni immediately got stunned by a glyph in the fireplace, causing them to be unable to move. Danahra did at least gather that Bex talks to someone telepathically, and that he seems rather tiffed about something. Danahra then asked Pyxis to go back to the Last Drop as she disguised herself and shot at a gargoyle on the Archlector's roof. While the gargoyle didn't move, the guard closest to them did and took off, searching for the assailant. With enough information gathered, Danahra ran off back to the tavern so the party can reconvene and plan their heist.
