Session 4: Welcome to Death
General Summary
After taking on the puzzles at the Shattered Temple M , the Party began to grow uneasy as they felt things being put into motion that they didn't entirely understand. Those emotions came to a head when the last puzzle resulted in everyone being overcome with this cold sense of dread only to awaken inside of a coffin. After rising, they were greeted by a friendly mimir by the name of Morte who did his best to field the party's questions. Morte informed them that they were in an abandoned building deemed The Morgue* on Plague-Mort, an outland connected to The Abyss near Sigil.
Once the party saw no other option, they journied outside only to immediately be met with a public execution. Apparently, Plague-Mort just recently re-emerged from the Abyss, and whoever was executed had a hand in almost starting another war. The execution was carried out by Archlector Bex, the leader of Plague-Mort. The Party did their best to blend in, but they were still noticed by a gnomish figure who bid the group to follow him.
He took them to the Last Drop tavern, where he introduced himself as Zangrim. He let the party try to explain their scenario, but soon revealed that he could tell everything just by looking at them. Being from the feywild meant that he was more than familiar with the stench of the Material Plane. He said that the Party needed to urgently learn how to live in one of the nearby planes, or find the quickest way home. The fastest way to figure out either would be to get to Sigil, which Zangrim is ready to help the party with at no mentioned cost. He claims to know a few people that could help the party get there; he's fairly well connected between his fey knowledge and his wife's experience as a pit fiend. The Party, however, knew better than to blindly trust a fey and split up to try and find help using their own unique talents.
