Broken Obelisk Session 20

General Summary

Session 20: 29-09-2025

The party starts back at The Cloak Tower in Neverwinter where they rest up and buy some more supplies. They call in the ship to pick them up at the harbor after Bruise briefs Khelben Blackstaff about the strange ooze creatures they fought in Ziracos. The Archmage tells them they're part of a species called Plasmoids, a sentient type of ooze that can form their bodies into humanoid shapes. The Masks of Ulric are a new shadowy organisation that has popped up recently and seems aligned with the Zhentarim. They have several Spelljammers in their arsenal.

They board the ship and fly back to the continent of Khatashaka on the damaged Spelljammer. When they re-enter the atmosphere there a massive crash on deck as a large stone hits the ship. Another Spelljammer with a metal hammerhead on its prow charges towards them firing ballistas bolts at them.

Kaxxa conjures an illusion to block the view to their ship while Trix prepares a magical bomb in the form of a spellbook filled with glyphs. The mechanical raven flies it to the ship but gets shot down by one of the crew members. Geralt summons a magical raven while Trix makes Geraltisible and it flies to the vessel setting off the glyph by opening the book.

Fire erupts from the deck and throws enemy crew members overboard. Smoking and on fire the Spelljammer veers off to the side and starts to fly off into the distance heavily damaged.

The party disembarks in a clearing in the jungle and starts moving towards the ruins of Xynthalhus. They spot strange tracks of a clawed creature, heavy and large moving to the north where their maps show the location of the key shard. Geralt looks for local wildlife and meets with a small green gecko who tells him theres a large lizard creature uphead.

Cautiously, they move forward and they see a sprawling overgrown city emerge from the jungle. Kaxxa flying overhead sees the ruins are infested with the undead and in an ancient amphitheater he sees a large dinosaur but half its face is missing with some of its bloody ribs exposed.
