Session 25: The Long Awaited Meeting Report
General Summary
Midday thru the festivities Ismaril would become quite beside herself. She would begin calling for scales and throwing A'lar his clothes, "The Dracolich has been in charge the whole time!" she would exclaim, having learned of this from the fae. A'lar would pull himself away from Aerithisia seeming a bit annoyed but would follow Ismaril, "Yes we suspect if there is a Dracolich it would be in charge." Ismaril would shake her head "No it didnt take over, its BEEN in charge since well since it wasn't a Dracolich." This revelation would be somewhat concerning. The Scales assembled after their respite embark back into the raining maze to each of the force doors to use the keys. Unlocking each of the 3 force doors the scales stepped cautiously into the Grove.
There was no rain here in the center of the maze. A still pond sat at its center with an ancient stone pavilion sat upon a small island in the pond, a Dragons Skull resting upon it. A disembodied voice echoed around them "Ah you have been found worthy un expected visitors from Amarantine!" As the voice ended the area to the north would warp and distort as a collusus green dragon would become visible, seated low in the soft grass its spiked tale curled about its massive form. Ismaril would stare pointedly, "This is a trick and not your true form." The Dragon would frown slightly "It is not, would you prefer?" and in a flash the scales melted away replacing skeletal visage, rotted wings and scales of the great undead wyrm. The remainder of the scales would be struck by the overwhelming presence of the horrific creature and begin to cower. Ismaril would now frown and sigh, "I do not mind, but the others would probably prefer the other form." The Skeletal face would seem to smile tho no flesh or muscle would move and her image would return to that of a green dragon.
"You interest me Crystaline one, your lack of fear is refreshing, I am Saellryth, Matron of the Grove...but now, why have you all come posing as members of Clan Starlight when you are indeed not?" A'lar would clear his throat, "We came to investigate, it is not every day one hears of a Dracolich, and our Council is using your appearence to garner favor with other clans," Adalon would include, "And we do not wish to see the council regain power." The Dragon would nod, "Well, your addition to my conclave would be of some value then...you see I propose a Confederation of Clans, and why I have invited my Sillicate neighbors." A'lar would smile, "And you entice two of them by reclaiming their lost lands from Windsfury." Saellryth would seem amused that her scheme was seen and understood, "Yes, you see while my kin take the blame for being so war mongering, it is two Metallic clans that have stolen land and broken faith with their proper kin forming new clans." Indalell would step forward carefully inspecting her illusion, tho Saellryth seemed to not pay him any mind, A'lar would pose next, "And this Confederation, you would lead it...well for all time?" Saellryth would laugh and shake her head, "No, the Confederation would aide me in destroying Clan Moonfrost and reclaiming what is mine, once that is done I would leave this place, and leave whatever you do next upto the Council we form." A'lar would seem to weigh this, "And the Ruthenians?" Saellryth would wave a claw, "Mercenaries, they wish some trinket from my hoard, once they have achieved victory against Windfury, they depart." A'lar would raise a finger, "If I may...why destroy Moonfrost? Surely the vassals there did not harm you, the ones who stole your land and domain are long since dead, can we not simply reclaim your lands?" Saellryth would frown "The clan will be destroyed for my vengeance and what is mine returned." "Surely that cant simply be land...what is so important there?" A'lar would press carefully. The Dragon would seem to grow somber, "It is enough to say they took what was most precious to me and will have my revenge."
The Scales would all exchange looks, while Saellryth seemed to waive away the memory, "So if my confederation is of interest, I shall send you to the city and you will be an Amarantine delegation meeting with my representative like the others, is this satisfactory?" The Scales would agree and in a flash appear on a busy city square. The entire city was made of the trees and forest itself, massive red woods reached into the darkness of the great canopy above, dotted with windows. An elf would approach, "The meeting awaits your arrival, they are on the second day of dilberations." Exchanging looks they would follow. They were guided into an extravagant courtyard where a great tree twisted and turned into a variety of rooms and shapes all the way up the massive trunk. Lead inside and to a meeting room, Sildaenar would look over a moment of relief on his face seeing Ismaril and the others. Representatives of Sea Spray and Viridian looked on with curiousity as they entered. The Talks would go on long into the day discussing how leadership would be chosen, universal laws, degrees of independence as well as some talk of how to deal with conquered territories. It concluded with all parties agreeing to re convene after Darkgrove proved its word and returned the lost lands taken by Windsfury. A'lar would spend most of the day doing what research he could upon Saellryth and her history. Departing the following day he would request a meeting with her but it would not seem to be granted before they had to depart.
Flying by Drake and once more camping on the outskirts of Darkgrove territory the Scales and the Ambassadors guard would settle in for the night. As the night crept on there would be a shift in the forest and Green haired elf would emerge from a great tree and look to Arien who was upon watch, "A'lar wished to speak with me?" Ayrien would not seem too alarmed by this arrival and would go to rouse A'lar. Finding the strange elf he would nod understanding, "Ah, Saellryth I presume?" The beautiful elf would smile and nod, "Yes, what else did you wish of me?" A'lar would offer that if her families remains could be recovered would that be enough to spare the Moonfrost vassals. Seeming a bit surprised, Saellryth would sigh softly, "When our lands were lost, my children and my kindred were lost, our lair there destroyed to protect it from falling into their hands. After that defeat and loss, I found out how to live for ever, to exact my revenge, but now, I simply wish to recover their bodies and take them from this wretched continent. What befalls the Moonfrost vassals is no concern to me...but their dragons...they will be destroyed." A'lar would nod at this and thank her for coming to speak with him again. The Following day the Scales would arrive at Elanhurthi and would begin to discuss what they should do. The debate went long into the night, and while no consensus was reached to this confederation, one thing was certain, it was time to Eliminate the Council Ary and unite Amarantine.
