Session 22: Moments of Pause Report
General Summary
With concerns of a Dracolich in the East the scales collected their rewards and bid farewell to Clan Aureate, Elim decided to remain behind to track the missing mage, as that was his primary directive, and he was going to find that ritual book. The Scales were allowed to use Aureates teleport circle to the Ary, and, open more formal discussions with the clan again, in place of the Council. Once home the scales went about their own personal works. A'lar would first check in with the First Steps, gather the information they had recovered on the anti dragonists while he was away. Indalell would go to report to A'varia the status of Elim and clan Aureate. Ismaril would report to the Ambassador Sildanaer while Adalon and Ayrien reported back to house Enre. Longwei would see his father and brother and inquire to their well being, finding his brother was finally coming around to his fathers political ambitions. Finishing with their personal matters the scales would re assemble on the following day, A'lar being specifically summoned by Adalon concerning the notes of the ritual that were recovered.
Jhaeros, Adalons Great Uncle would arrive with him, eager to have a look over the notes and lend what aide he could to the Scales in learning about how to create Draconiens to level this field in the conflict. Bliss would arrive before A'lar and seem annoyed she beat him hear. Adalon while they waited would prepare some meats, bread and other snacks and pass the time with conversation. Finally as the Scales all assembled, they discussed their next moves. The Starlight Clan seemed to be the only in the city with the information concerning a Dracolich, but this did not seem suspicious given their proximity. It was decided that Griffin and Unicorn should receive the lions share of surveillance to try and discover external communications and the heist plans for the Museum. Jhaeros would find the ritual fascinating and offer to work on the notes to help them creak it, however A'lar would decline wishing to take them with him to do just that. The last order of business was to work on expanding the Scales. Ismaril and Adalon were in favor of some more traditional recruitment for muscle and spies, where A'lar after the suggestion of Celdraeth to find, fanatics. There was some debate but it was decided Celdraeth could begin vetting volunteers alongside the hired agents. Lastly they discussed the Winds Fury Warmasters arrival but knew little more than that, he was here to attempt to get the council to act concerning the Dracolich.
Later that day they would all assemble, with Sildanaer and 5 of Ismarils guards to return to Clan Starlight territory. Elanhurthi was a distinctly elven looking city built into the mountain side spiraling up the peaks of Starlight. At their tops could be found massive observatories with telescopes pointed to the skies above. They were greated by an honor guard and brought immediately before the Starspeaker Archenar. The palace of the Starspeaker was covered in frescos depicting the 9 planets of Eraneths solar system, images of distant nebulas and other things observed from the massive scopes. After pleasantries were exchanged they were invited to his war room and to meet General Tangadrien of the Starlightguard, Ismarils supreme commander. Clan Windsfurry had been holding a narrow river crossing for some time, despite the arrival of undead forces from the Ruthenia. This defensive action was finally broken by the arrival of a Dracolich. No history or rumor of one existing within Clan Darkgrove, leaving many questions un answered. It was decided that the Scales could be of more use learning about Darkgrove and their goals and this Dracolich instead of joining the defense of Windsfurry. Having worked alongside Darkgrove in the past, the Starspeaker offered to have them approached with a delegation and treat with Clan Darkgrove. This all agreed to, Ismaril would invite the Scales to her home, where they could stay before they departed.
The opulent manor house sat over one of the many waterfalls that erupt from the mountain side. Its walls were covered edge to edge in beautiful paintings of portraits, landscapes, starscapes, nature, and anything else one could imagine. Ellomin was the first to meet them all and Elvea, Ismarils mother would arrive some time later. Her resplendent white dress splattered with bits of paint of various colors, her fingers also bore the mixed colors of hands near brush and canvas. She was eccentric where Ellomin was stoic, asking all sort of questions of Ismaril, as well as telling embarrassing stories of her youth, perhaps with varying degrees of accuracy. Elvea would decide that a dinner party was a must, and would go about beginning to plan on short notice, rushing her dwarven servants out the house with invitations. A'lar would come along to help with the dinner plans, finding Elvea was quite flirtatious and eager to be in proximity to him. The scales would settle in for a relaxing evening and a wonderful if not hastily put together dinner party with various members of the Elanhurthi society and many of Ismarils friends and neighbors.
