Session 69: Nice Report

General Summary

Adalon would wheel is drake soaring thru the barrier of blades he had erected landing Thirhe near the Orc and his henchmen. Adalon would release the magic of an amulet sending a lightning bolt surging thru the orc and the gunmen, however the orc with its heightened awareness and adrenaline fueled rage would spin away while one gunman took the full brunt of the blast. Massive axe swings would descend upon Ismaril who would dodge and weave away readying her blade to strike. Just before the finishing lunge an arrow would thud into the orcs side, its eyes rolling back in its head, collapsing, Ismaril would look about annoyed. The last gunman seeing the fight turning would level his pistol on his boss putting a bullet in his chest to make sure he would not be captured before turning to run. Ayrien however would just see that he died tired, an arrow flying after and putting the man down. Indalell would get to A'lar in time saving him from the brink, while Ismaril would focus her psionic energies to speed up A'lars own natural healing abilities. The next few days would be uneventful as they made their way to the small settlemet.

The frontier town was obviously set up to support a wide array of homesteads for miles in any direction. The Scales would find that the orc, Zughan, was the partner and second in command of the local bandits, Tiriana, a Summer Elf outlaw was likely going to be non to happy. The scales would find Darion, who was the towns mayor, perhaps against his wishes, but he fulfilled the duties admirable. A'lar would cut to the chase and offer to eliminate Tiriana and her gang in exchange for the exact location to the lair, assuming it held the staff. Darion would confirm it was there and agreed to the offer. Ismaril would ensure their halfling charges settled in and spent most of her time with them while the others ventured to the local saloon. They learned that the local Kholo tribe had only recently started to work with the outlaws. Opting to head strait for Tiriana, Indalel was alert for any spies in the town who may be reporting back to the bandits. The following morning they would note the postman from the Heliotrope company had departed unusually early. Ayrien would track him only to find he was not on his post route but had doubled back towards Tirianas suposed location. The Scales would set out to follow the courier finding where he met with someone well outside town before returning to his postal route. The scales continued on for the next few days stealthily and cautiously making their way towards the bandit camp. On the second day they would spot and be spotted by Kholo Scouts, who quickly rode off. Pressing on alert for what may come next the scales made ready.
