Session 6: Death of a Bard Report

General Summary

After finding the second stone the party washes up on the shores of Medley when they found Lyra, Nerri, and Ilian who were seeking out a way to get back Nerri's powers to allow her to fight alongside the party against Ohrer. This reunion occured as the party began to celebrate their victory and allowed for the party to mingle with some of their familiar friends as well as new ones. The drow from the underdark joined in this celebration and treated the party to free drinks.   One drow named Misty spoke with Belavor about recruiting her guild known as the Unseen in order to steal the Gem of the Elements from the Crossroads of the Elemental Plane. If they wish to do this they could speak directly to the deep gnome named Leer in the Underdark or possibly somewhere else about contracting some help. The party did recall that this organization is not the most reliable without a good pay, in the case of this heist, the Unseen have alterior motives. Misty revealed that the Unseen is looking for an object on this plane but did not say much more.   During the party, Bill and Nerri were allowed to spend a night together and did not interact with many others. Lyra and Moses made amends and she told him that she understands what he did. Jesus and Moses entered a drinking contest with two drow where Jesus blacked out and Moses won against the two drow. As the party died down however, they were brought into a vision.   They found themselves in the same piece of the astral plane with Ohrer, the devil seemed angrier than before. He congradulated the party on their finding and securing of the second stone and decided he would offer them a deal. In exchange for the protection of the party as well as their settlement of Lowry, the party would instead help Ohrer find the stones and turn the stones over so that he could obtain the Bane of the Divine. All but Bill quickly dismissed the deal, who instead chose to hear out the archdevil and his proposal. In exchange for a artifact known as the Infernal Chains Bill would turn over his stone when the party had found all four and would also serve Ohrer's will.    The party awoke and as Jesus walked out onto the shore, he heard a booming noise and felt an unbearable pain saying that he must go to the caves of Medley in order to stop the cursed bongos. Moses walked up to help him but the party found themselves in the middle of an ambush. The attackers destroyed the bongos and vanished and the party knew they must go to the caves to stop Jesus' pain. They approached the caves and the pain only grew, but the party pressed on. In the front area of the cave several piercers fell onto the party and the voice said that only Jesus could continue through the cave.    While Jesus was going through the cave, the party on the outside was confronted by a platoon of Gauntlet members looking for Bill da Bear. They said that he was recently spotted on a rampage in the city of Froll and there was a warrent out for his head. The party cut through all but one of the gauntlet members before getting an overwhelming feeling that Jesus was in trouble.    Jesus continued through three trial which ended in him coming face to face with the hag that he had stolen the bongos from to begin with. The illusion of a comfortable lodge in the cave shuttered away and he instead saw four spikes on the wall, three of which were occupied by the corpses of his fellow band members. The battle was close however in the end the party was not in time to stop him from meeting his fate. Jesus' chest radiated a enormous light and as he began to fall to his knees he let out a giant blast of energy that killed the hag as well as himself.   Moses tried praying to revive him as well as cramming his organs back into his body but his efforts were to no avail. Bill pulled Moses away and the party decided they should bury the corpse in their village of Lowry. After they began to exit the cave they saw a mysterious figure in robes. It was a dragonborn monk named Tobius who offered to join the party and help them deal with the group of Gauntlet soldiers coming to fight them. Though untrusting at first, the party realized that the monk who was Toby's master was Ben, a monk in Froll who Jesus entrusted some secretive information.    The party after collecting themselves for the night embarked on a journey to the North Pass, a mountain range where they could find one of the final pieces of the keys. On their way they found that a mysterious individual is pretending to be Bill and is the one who attacked the monastary at Froll. The party then continued on their way.   After ariving to the dragon cave, they found Broz, a brass dragon who guards the stone. Broz said that they could have the stone in exchange for another artifact of equal value or 10,000 gold. Knowing they could not do this, Toby offered that they simply needed the stone for a brief amount of time and they would then bring it back. Broz said that he would not grant this request and informed them of the true nature of the Bane of the Divine. After this there was a portal that opened releasing a fallen angel at the mouth of the gate.    Toby offered for the party to protect the dragon in exchange for the stone. Broz accepted this and fought with the party against the angel. Together the dragon and the party were strong enough to take down the celestial being but at the cost of Broz's life, who entrusted the party to watch over his child, a pseudodragon that had just hatched. However, choosing to fight the angel means that Bill had broken the pact he had with Ohrer and he will reap the consequences in the next session.    End Date 1:6:6 (The Holiday of Ethos will occur next session) Summary of Lowry: 5 unnamed NPC's, village is focused on building more housing.
