Session 10: Preparing for the End Times Report

General Summary

After leaving the Vault of Ignis, the party defends their decision to bring Cosmo into the village who was previously running around the village and murdering citizens looking for the Vault of Ignis. The party accepts Bill's explanation and welcomes the mage into Lowry. While in the town, they spent times preparing themselves for the collection of the final stone when they hear the voice of Ohrer in their minds and drop to the ground. Ohrer told the party that his siege on the Elemental Plane is nearly complete so they have lost the final stone.   Ohrer offers that the party can either try to fight their way through an army of devils and imps storming the Palace of the Elementals or they can help him instead and collect the final stone but then hand over the Bane of the Divine. Bill and Moses refused and were removed from the vision and instead Tobey was given the offer. Tobey chose to take the deal with the devil but with no true intent of handing over the divine when they accept it.   The portal opens and allows them into the Air Plane, at some point between the Palace of the Elementals and the tower housing the Breath of Soar. The party first decides to go and investigate the tower but is first attacked by a group of aarakocra who see that they are here due to the summoning by Ohrer. They then make it to the tower and decide to attack the guardians of the artifact protected by a magical sphere. After clearing the tower, the party took the artifact and stealthily made their way into the palace. The imps knowing that Ohrer sent the party allow them to enter revealing an empty palace aside from a woman with a divine aura sitting in a throne at the end of the hall who is the vessel of Soar.    After telling the diety that Flora had sent them (the druid from the Great Tree) Soar entrusts the stone with them but as they tried to flee the plane they were attacked by a chain devil. The devil tells them to hand over the stones so that he can bring them to Ohrer, the party refuses and the devil tried to fight the group but was defeated. They returned to the Material Plane and Lowry as they began to make final preparations for retrieving the Bane of the Divine.   Ethos spoke to Moses and Tobey separately, giving Moses advice on how to create the portal and saying that they need to move swiftly. However, Tobey was warned that there is some speck of evil inside Moses which the party must be cautious of, saying that if he were to give into it he would be as great a threat as Ohrer to kill. Bill talked to Nerri who revealed that she is one of Ohrer's four children who are the source to his immortality and if they want to truly kill Ohrer and not just keep him at bay for a few centuries the party must kill the devil's children. Additionally, the party could also remove the Pearl of Insight from his head which would restore Ohrer's sanity and likely weaken him. The party was also told that if they were to kill Ohrer, a new ruler of hell would have to be appointed.    Before leaving to open the portal, a group of knights from the Order of the Tribune came commanding that Cosmo be handed over. The party accepted this, meaning that Cosmo may return to seek revenge on the party.    End Date 1:8:4, Summary of Lowry: 8 unnamed NPC's, tot pop: 18, the town is now functioning normally, working on establishing trade and bringing in new members to join the town.
