Session 00: A.P.R.O Testing

General Summary

Union of Adventurers - Skills Assessment Session Report
Assessment Date: 18th Grizwolf 1732, 14:00
Facilitator: Yankin Myilkiss, Silver Dragonborn
Assessment Location: Testing Zone Simulacrum, A.P.R.O at Union Hall, Generia

Assessment Summary

The new cohort successfully completed their Skills Assessment Tests and associated administrative requirements, including the dreaded URF-16B forms and relevant addendums. Yankin Myilkiss facilitated the session with patience, despite mild reputational setbacks resulting from inappropriate comments about his name. Initial party reputation stands at -1.

Individual and Group Performance Highlights

Strength Test: Door Mechanics

While many attempted brute force, Do Ta Tich Tich (Tich Tich) excelled by analyzing the mechanics of the test. By inspecting the hinges and testing the door's functionality, Tich Tich circumvented the "kick first, think later" approach typically favored by adventurers. A commendable display of creative problem-solving.

Dexterity & Teamwork Test: Bop It Challenge

A surprising highlight was Derrick Greenfield, who unexpectedly claimed victory in the round of "bop it," a deceptively complex test of dexterity and group coordination. The Neuf Greenfields' scion exhibited a rare moment of finesse, much to his companions' astonishment.

Constitution Test: Drinking Contest

This test proved a mixed bag. Madgriel abstained, citing her monastic vows of temperance, a choice that reflects her discipline but removed her from contention. Other participants displayed adequate tolerance, though no records were broken.

Intelligence Test: Hourglass Puzzle

Initially, the party struggled to deduce the solution. However, a moment of Tabaxi ingenuity from Josie, who impulsively knocked over the hourglass at precisely the correct moment, saved the group. Her feline instincts proved both chaotic and serendipitous.

Perception Test: Darkness Challenge

Skreet demonstrated exceptional aptitude in this task, correctly identifying all four objects in total darkness. His Hadozi senses and natural cunning were instrumental, showcasing a promising application of rogue-like observational skills.

Charisma Test: The Talent Show

This portion of the assessment revealed a collective weakness. Despite varied attempts to win over the simulated audience, none of the party managed to shine. A revisit to charisma-building exercises may be warranted.

Administrative Notes

  • All participants successfully completed their URF-16B forms, albeit with minor complaints regarding the addendums.
  • Yankin Myilkiss noted that several individuals arrived early or on time, but the group's collective inclination to joke about his name led to an overall reputation penalty.
  • Party cohesion appears to be developing, with teamwork visible in shared problem-solving efforts despite occasional individual showboating.

Facilitator's Comments

"This cohort has potential but must work on balancing individual strengths with cohesive teamwork. Their humor, while appreciated, should be directed at the proper targets—adventuring obstacles, not facilitators."
Yankin Myilkiss

Final Evaluation: Pass
The party has been provisionally approved for membership in the Union of Adventurers. Ongoing mentorship and development recommended.

Union of Adventurers - Skills Assessment Session Report
Assessment Date: 18th Grizwolf 1732, 16:00
Facilitator: Yankin Myilkiss, Silver Dragonborn
Assessment Location: Testing Zone Simulacrum, A.P.R.O at Union Hall, Generia

Assessment Summary

The second group of adventurers demonstrated mixed results in their Skills Assessment Tests. Nesaena of Wuit, a human barbarian, stood out in the Strength Test but struggled in the more nuanced tasks. Accompanying her were the following:
Rina Quickfingers, a Halfling Rogue
Vorruk Shieldjaw, a Half-Orc Fighter
Pala Thentel, an Elven Cleric
While teamwork was evident in some areas, other challenges revealed gaps in both individual and collective capabilities.

Individual and Group Performance Highlights

Strength Test: Door Mechanics

Nesaena obliterated the door on her first attempt, showcasing her raw strength. This decisive success set the tone for the group's confidence, though none could replicate her sheer physicality.

Dexterity & Teamwork Test: Bop It Challenge

The rogue, Rina Quickfingers, lived up to her name, emerging as the clear victor in this dexterity-focused challenge. Her quick reflexes and focus proved invaluable, earning her quiet respect from the group.

Constitution Test: Drinking Contest

This test was brief and underwhelming. All participants tapped out after only two drinks. While a lack of endurance was evident, Pala Thentel maintained composure, offering prayers to avoid future such indulgences.

Intelligence Test: Hourglass Puzzle

The group worked through this puzzle with admirable discussion and teamwork. Nesaena, Rina, and Pala contributed solid ideas, while Vorruk Shieldjaw repeatedly searched the simulated maze for a nonexistent door. His dogged determination earned a chuckle from the facilitator but contributed little to solving the task.

Perception Test: Darkness Challenge

This portion of the assessment stumped the group. None could adequately identify the objects in the dark, leading to a collective failure.

Charisma Test: The Talent Show

A catastrophic performance all around. Nesaena broke her baton in frustration within the first minute of her attempt, while the others fumbled through incoherent speeches or awkward silences. Rina attempted humor but fell flat. Vorruk tried intimidating the simulated audience, to no avail. Pala recited a hymn that earned groans rather than applause.

Administrative Notes

All participants completed their URF-16B forms, though Nesaena expressed open disdain for the process. Yankin Myilkiss noted that while there was camaraderie in some tasks, individual frustrations occasionally derailed group efforts.

Facilitator's Comments

"This group shows promise in specific areas but must develop patience, adaptability, and finesse. Their approach to challenges often favors brute force over strategy, with predictably mixed results."
Yankin Myilkiss

Final Evaluation: Pass
The group has been provisionally approved for membership in the Union of Adventurers. Charisma-building exercises and wisdom-focused training strongly recommended.

Players were set through these tests to roll their abilities on 4d6, dropping the lowest. Excelling in the tests would give them the opportunity to re-roll the lowest number. They were all given the option to take their rolls "down the line" to get a boon at the end of the test. Of the players only 1 - Nesa - chose to re-allocate their stats. Everyone else was granted an additional inspiration point to start the game, along with a free magic item.

The A.P.R.O in Generia: The Adventuring Permit & Registration Office.

Yankin Myilkiss - the testing administrator. A silver dragonborn with a rather matter-of-fact disposition who takes his job seriously.

Alden Breakbone - the assistant registration administrator. He is a serious orc who never comes to work without a tie. He finds everyone's questions asinine. The forms are easy - to him, at least.
