General Summary
Union of Adventurers - Official Quest Report
Quest Title: Facilities Maintenance - Investigate the Screaming in the Outhouse Quest ID: #BW-042Assigned Adventurers: The Treblemakers
Contact Officer: Lieutenant Krell
Quest Rank: D (low combat potential, high risk, Union request)
Date of Completion: 8th Spellire, 1732
Reward Issued: xx GP xx SP xx CP
Summary of Events:
After the recent repairs to the Blunderwatch Quest Board, the Treblemakers took it upon themselves to complete as many remaining quests as possible. Among them, they selected the Facilities Maintenance quest to investigate reported screaming emanating from the outhouse.Upon arrival, Tich Tich took the initiative and rappelled directly down the primary waste shaft, while the rest of the party sought a more conventional route. Once below, Tich Tich encountered four hostile fairy-like creatures clad in oversized bug shells and small mammal bones. These creatures, later identified as members of the Piot Chant, had mauve-tinted skin and glowing gold eyes. They engaged in immediate hostilities, attempting to climb Tich Tich’s rope, which he attempted to counter by greasing it. One of the Piot Chant responded by freezing the rope, leading to a mutual tumble into the, er, less-than-sanitary conditions below.
The rest of the party arrived to reinforce Tich Tich, engaging the Piot Chant in combat. These diminutive creatures displayed an unusual resilience, taking multiple strikes before showing signs of wear. Despite their size, they packed considerable strength and elemental abilities. During the melee, Tich Tich and the Piot Chant leader managed to establish communication. Initial negotiations were, as expected, largely threats, but it was soon determined that the Piot Chant were unaware they had tunneled beneath Blunderwatch, believing themselves to still be within the Unclaimed Wyld.
Through diplomacy (and perhaps exhaustion), the Piot Chant agreed to cease their incursions into Blunderwatch and destroy the tunnels they had created. As a token of this agreement, they provided Tich Tich with a magical sending stone, though it appears to be faulty—messages sent with it do not always conform to the standard 25-word limit. In exchange, Tich Tich crafted a wooden spoon as a trade, only to find himself permanently stripped of the ability to carve spoons by the fey magic of the Piot Chant.
Outcome & Recommendations:
- The tunnels beneath Blunderwatch are expected to be collapsed by the Piot Chant, reducing future incursions from subterranean threats.
- Tich Tich is advised to test the sending stone under controlled conditions to determine the full extent of its malfunction.
- Given the unexpected elemental capabilities of the Piot Chant, future encounters with similar creatures should be approached with caution.
- The outhouse is now clear for use, though it is strongly advised that all personnel avoid discussing what transpired below in detail.
Final Assessment:
Quest completed successfully. Threat neutralized through combat and negotiation.Filed by:

Quest Title: "Timmy’s Cat is Stuck in a Tree!"Quest ID: #BW-4127
Filed By: Timothy Beal (Age 7)
Address: #5 Drystreet, The Lost Causeway, Blunderwatch
Date Filed: 7th of Spellire, 1732
Assigned Party: The Treblemakers
Quest Rank: F (Non-Combat, Civilian Request)
Date completed: 8th of Spellire, 1732
Objective:
Retrieve Mr. Whiskerworth, a cat (??) belonging to Timothy Beal, from the Elder Twist tree near the Lost Causeway before the Union issues a 500gp fine for unlicensed animal disturbance.Quest Progress Log:
- Arrival at Elder Twist Tree: The party reached the location and identified Mr. Whiskerworth high up in the gnarled branches.
- Skreet’s Ascent: Skreet (party member) climbed the tree to approach Mr. Whiskerworth.
- Josie’s Inquiry: Josie (party member) spoke with local birds to ascertain more information about Mr. Whiskerworth.
- Revelation: Mr. Whiskerworth is not a cat, but a Grimalkin—a fey creature that resembles a cat but is distinctly not one.
- Negotiation: Mr. Whiskerworth stated he would not leave the tree, citing that the Elder Twist is unclaimed land, meaning the Union cannot evict him.
- Hospitality Exchange: Skreet offered Mr. Whiskerworth some bugs, in return receiving honey cakes as a sign of hospitality. Mr. Whiskerworth formally invited Skreet to return anytime as a guest.
- Administrative Appeal: Derrick and Nesa (party members) approached Merrit at the Administration Office to argue that the fine against Timothy was unjustified, as Mr. Whiskerworth is a fey creature, not a pet, and thus has no legal owner.
Quest Outcome:
Pending ResolutionTimothy Beal’s fine status:
Under review.Union response to Grimalkin claim:
Awaiting further directives. Potential further involvement required.Additional Notes:
- Mr. Whiskerworth appears to have legal loophole knowledge beyond standard Union expectations.
- Situation suggests potential bureaucratic entanglements concerning unclaimed land within Union jurisdiction.
- Recommend party remain available for follow-up investigation.

Quest Title: Rats in the BasementQuest ID: #BW-4133
Filed By: Fiona Sudswallow
Address: The Hungry Toad, Blunderwatch
Date Filed: 7th of Spellire, 1732
Assigned Party: The Treblemakers
Quest Rank: E (Low risk combat, Civilian Request)
Date completed: 8th of Spellire, 1732
Summary of Events:
At approximately 17:00 the adventuring group known as The Treblemakers accepted a contract to investigate and eliminate a suspected rat infestation in the basement storeroom of the Hungry Toad. Payment was agreed upon at a rate of 1 gold piece per rat captured or exterminated.Upon investigation, the party discovered signs of disturbance—tampered crates, scattered grain—but no direct evidence of rats. Instead, they identified small tunnels burrowed into the walls, leading to the conclusion that the responsible parties were, in fact, the Piot Chants who the Treblemakers had recently met earlier today.
Tich Tich, utilizing a newly acquired sending stone, established communication with the Piot Chants and informed them of the tunnels beneath the tavern. They acknowledged the situation and confirmed that tunnel removal was already in progress. When offered a trade by Tich Tich on behalf of Nesa, they declined, reiterating that they would address the tunnels in due time.
Meanwhile, Josie and Skreet debated the terms of their contract, realizing that without rats, no direct bounty could be claimed. While they considered an alternative approach, Nesa took it upon herself to report the findings to me directly.
As no actual infestation was present, and given that the Piot Chants assured me they would collapse the tunnels, I deemed the issue resolved. In lieu of the standard bounty, I compensated the party with a full meal and drinks for the evening.
Final Notes:
Situation contained, no immediate threats remain. No evidence suggests further Piot Chant expansion beyond the known tunneling beneath the Outhouse and the tavern. Will monitor for any new disturbances.Signed,
Fiona BramblethornProprietor, The Hungry Toad
