The War of the Broken Heart

The Mystic Authority has grown beyond its limits. As if forgetting the lessons of the past, the priesthood has become gluttonous, and the hierophant has become wrathful. No longer content to keep the peace, the Authority exploits its citizens to enrich its constituent elites. The common people are hesitant to resist, as the Authority wields powerful Heart-inspired armour astirs and mechanical pawn soldiers called austinitons.   The Heart has not been watching idly. It does not wish to be used to cause suffering, but can do little on its own from its location at the center of the world. The Authority’s priesthood’s exclusive use of magic has been revoked, as the Heart has reached out to noble souls in the hope that they can correct this injustice, as Quarz once did many centuries ago. These people and their allies have joined together to challenge the Authority as the CRA: the Cardiac Rebel Alliance.   The year is 1064 AA. The Heart of Myst cries out once more.
