Session 1

General Summary

Session 1 interim recap until someone writes something better or more official Once upon a time, in a land a rather indeterminate distance away, there was a town. Oh it was not so very notable a town. It had a mayor, Sammit, some farm land, a tavern— and little else, save a nearby portal to the great city of Junction.   s1_inaugural.png   As such it was somewhat remarkable when it was ringed in by a magical dirt based barrier   Caught in the town at the time were several individuals of Non Local origin. A minotaur from a a distant valley (along with his arboreal companion), an elf from parts unknown, a sailor druid, a Teifling druid, A Perfectly Ordinary Actress ™, A disheveled wizard, a rich student of the arcane, and a human militia man came together to try and defend the town or at least figure out their plight.   s1_group.png   They were not terribly successful at first. Standing around bantering yielded less than menacing attacks from fragile dirt men. Climbing the wall yielded some very rude arms formed of soil. Ritual magic did not succeed in finding anything. Even the great power of Cammomeille tea, likewise was ineffective against the dirty menace. A shout to ask if they were being scryed was greeted by a voice booming “I know you’re in there” with a demand that something come out. Another attempt was met by crickets, who are as a species loathe to reveal secrets. Eventually it was the charisma of the human militia man that organized the town….. and our party of, let us face it, perhaps somewhat less than heroes. He was able to convince the people of town to gather in the tavern, and organize the Outsiders into…. A quasi organized ish force. On a their shout for more information, far more dangerous dirtmen appeared.   s1_dirtbear.png   The Perhaps Eventually Heroes were able to repell the attack. During it they realized certain core truths- bears can be spike demons, dirt monsters can merge together, trees are dangerous, Never discuss the fact something awful is going to happen, and perhaps, most importantly at that time, That the Perfectly Ordinary Actress ™ was in fact secretly a dagger blender of some kind The group eventually entered the tavern, save the minotaur, the spike bear, and brave animal companion, Noodle. In the tavern, the other worldly elf, Niranen’s eye for terrible decor found a pink deer head. The other worldly taxidermy design disaster objected to being located, and flew off in a streak of magic, blowing through the wall, destroying the tavern’s roof, and eventually being absorbed by the mysterious woman who demanded it   The Sailor Druid was able to launch an attack at the Dirty Defiler— and she Hit. She was also there after somehow marked by the Dirty Defiler, in a manner that surely will not haunt anyone later.   The group, confused, decided to journey to junction together.   Unknown to the group, somewhere out there a woman spoke, placing a pin over the town, and noting that “These would do nicely”
