Session 77: Primal Flames

General Summary

The party find Hofsa under seige, being attacked by three packs at once, each carrying torches to light fires. The hamlet is used to attacks, but they have typically been from feral packs of werewolves. These seem to be orchestrated and organized.   One group attacks from the south west, having already set fire to the granery, but fields of wheat lay out and endangered.   Another group attacks from the southeast. Nothing has been set aflame yet, but the apothecary is there, as well as Alma's home. Illevaere spies two large bat-winged creatures flying near invisibly in the dark above this group.   To the northeast, another group attacks. They have already set fire to the fields there and are already upon the farmhouses. Hosfa's weapon storage is closest to there, and soldiers who arm themselves with silvered spears will be quickest to reinforce this area, but it is also in the most immediate threat.   Levi, Illevaere, and Myohn went to intercept the group to the southwest, Levi wanting to ensure that the crops in the fields there were not set aflame.   Nortle, Obadiah, and Snirk went to engage the group to the southeast, Obadiah wanting to protect Alma.   Tertius, Tiarjead, Aisling, and Porter went to engage the group to the northeast. Tertius rode in on Strawberry in order to try to swiftly pull away endangered people on horseback.   Levi, Illevaere, and Myohn were quick to take down the alpha of the pack attacking their region. Svengard was grievously wounded in the fight as he came out to lend aid, but he was healed by Illevaere and caught in an area of charm that halted the battle for him and other werewolves as cast by Myohn. As the beta of the pack was slain, the remaining wolves turned and fled, freeing the members of this area to move to lend their aid to another area.   To the southeast, Obadiah rushed down to protect Alma who was injured by a werewolf's claws. Illevaere summoned a draconic spirit to engage the Nightwings. As villagers fled the clothier, Snirk rushed down to put herself between the villagers and the attackers and successfully drew the attacks toward her, allowing them to flee. This left Nortle with the alpha and beta both attacking her, but she retreated into her shell for defensive aid. The bat-like nightwings had swooped down to snatch the party, but failed. However, as Ingrid rushed from the clothier, she was snatched up by one of the Nightwings who flew off with her.   To the northeast, Tertius rode Strawberry to the farmhouse, grabbing villagers to pull onto horseback and leading them away from the pack's attacks. Aisling and Tiarjead began their attacks at a range as they closed rank. The group moved up to engage the pack hand to hand and Hilda Gunndottir rushed out to join them. The nightwing flew from the southeast and dropped Ingrid Fairbraid from 40 feet into the fray and Porter rushed up and grabbed her, pulling her back away from the fight.
