Session 2: Wolfs Bane Report

General Summary

The fight was not over yet, atop the hill was a Giantess with a boulder pulled up over head as she hurled it forward. A hail of boulders and Kobolds would assail the party as they pushed up the hill. Ogres throwing the Kobolds into the fray and the Giantess and her rocks. Drogomir and Pozake would cut thru the Kobolds as they regained their feet while Ulric and Katarina pressed up the hill into the bottleneck. The massive hooked polearm of the Ogre leader would trip Ulric with a growling thud, while Katarina would be body blocked by an ogre as she tried to spin thru. Adelaide's eyes would go wide as a boulder clipped her shoulder, likely to leave a terrible bruise. The fight would be a slog of exchanged blows at the hilltop where the party could not push thru at first. Darius's would chant a blessing of his deity to empower his comrades to fight on while Adelaides bombs would fly over head to begin to punch holes in the defense. The Giantess would swing her massive club striking Ulric and Drogomir, but soon the party would have her surrounded. Battered and bloody but victorious they would claim the hill, and the field of Wolfsbane atop it.  

Harvesting the flowers they would return to Holzweil where Casimir's sister would brew three doses of the Wolfsbane. "This will be painful," she warned to Katarina and Darius before going to administer one to the Duke as well. Katarina opted to go first drinking the blueish liquid with silvery flecks in one gulp and making a face to its taste and laying down. She would feel as though her blood was on fire as it worked, destroying the lycanthropy that would overtake her by the full moon. Darius would do the same, both enduring the pain of the process and ridding themselves of the curse. Ulric would go to find Casimir during this only to discover he had left for Wolfsfelden to retrieve Katarina's brother Bastien. Finding that Casimir is now overdue to return he was double concerned and was making ready to leave for the city. The party would follow as they made good speed back to Wolfsfelden. Heading for Katarinas house they would find a fight had occurred here, and a dead body lay inside. "Gunner," Ulric would say with a frown, it looked as though he had stayed behind to allow the others to escape. Ulric would begin to track them into the town but would find city streets were not forest paths.  

Ulric, Darius and Drogomir would head to the forested reserves in the city and see if Ulric had fled there while Pozake, Adelaide and Katarina would look into Pozakes guard contacts to see what could be learned. Most of the day spent searching with little to show for it, as Pozakes group was returning Katarina would note a hooded figure that was motioning over to them subtly. As she moved toward the figure it would duck down an ally way, her hand would go to her rapier as she followed. In a darker part of the alley the figure would pull its hood back, Eric, the thieves guild leader, well, leader now after the cities purge of criminals. "I figured I owed you one since you busted me and the boys out before we were turned to Zombies....your friends have some powerful enemies." Katarina would frown at this, "My brother?" Eric would nod, "With them, safe, I am not sure, we got them out of town at the big ones request, but there is some nasty stuff chasing them." Katarina would thank him and rush to meet with the others. Ulric would waste no time knowing his liege was in danger would begin to track them in the wood lands outside the city. Here with ease he would find two sets of foot prints, one carrying some sort of load heading towards Holzweil. He would next find some strange monstrous prints and the pad prints of wolves, though not quite right. The party would take their horses and drive on after Casimir and Bastien, and whatever was chasing them.
