Session 6: To Coup the Coup Report

General Summary

Darius would quickly move about the square, healing those who had rallied to help as best he could. The sounds of more panic soon spread across the city as the party limped and carried their wounded back to the Wolfs den. To all their relief Werner had survived but was badly injured. His wife and daughter who helped run the Den with out a word went about to tending to the injured. The rest would speak with the Imperial Legate Leoric. He would not have much to offer beyond this woman claiming an ancient lineage and claim had arrived, taken power in the court and had the whole church rounded up in one fell swoop. Pozake decided to go and speak with Dirk to try and rally some loyalist among the guard to their cause to do something about this coup. Katarina would set out to find Erik and what was left of the thieves guild to see if they could help. Ulric would go with Pozake while Drogomir would accompany Katarina. Darius and Adelaide would remain to tend to the injured. As they moved thru the night streets they would find the normal revalry was instead a mix of chaos and trepidation as fights were breaking out across the city and general chaos began to settle in.  

Pozake would convince Dirk to get his family out of the city and to Ulrics village, then rally all he could to join them at the Wolfsden. Katarina would have similar success with Erik, as she and Drogomir would convince the thieves that if they did this they would be the soul criminal element in the new city and that many noble homes were currently vulnerable. The thieves guild would soon become this movements eyes and ears, providing safe houses to the party should they need them in the future thru ought the city. As they all returned to the Wolfsden, Ulric would dispatch a runner to get Kasimir and all the fighters of the pack to suit up and head for the City, it was his time to claim the throne. Leoric would offer to go to the nearest Imperial garrison, but the party convinced him instead to stay and support them. He offered that likely the great Armory of the Wolfsfelden temple of Azanar would still be locked. If they could gain entry the sacred armaments there would surely be of aid.  

Setting out in the morning they would scout the temple complex finding far to many guards for a frontal assault. Leoric would isntead them once more into the sewers where they would find a hidden entrance to the temple catacombs. Navigating thru they would emerge from the crypts into the inner courtyard and surprise the guards there in. After a brief skirmish they would defeat the few guards inside and capture the last, deciding to interrogate him and find what awaited them within the temple.
