S1E1 - New Beginnings Report

General Summary

Session began with Ifor Winterbrook, a young Kystran, training in the Ignis Institute. Under the watchful eye of Sentinel Vallius, he learns three tenets of swordsmanship - timing, control and fluidity. He was then told to run around the old city - a 3.5k jog in full combat attire.   Next, we met Yurozo, an alcoholic oniborn in a tavern called the "miners hovel" in blackgate. After a brief tavern fight, he left the tavern to see a strange orange light...   Then we met Abel Glockens, a human walking down the dusty high road from Port Llast. He ran into a bard, Janelor Gaerson, on the way and had a brief conversation. He then met Prashad Bhatt, a human druid who runs the logging operation out of Blackgate. They briefly discussed Abel's employment, before too succumbing to the light   Finally we met Amora Melvana, a tiefling sorcerer from the Low Lantern. She met with overboss Korash, who had captured a high elf cleric by the name of Daero Oltont. Daero is a chosen of Savras, and cursed with visions of the future, including a recent one where 6 people were attacked by a book held by a 3-headed flaming whip. One of those 6 was Amora, and another was a red-coloured oniborne.   All these people, and also Larethiel Dawnsworn, were teleported to a dungeon deep below Neverwinter. There, a quartet of cultists conducted a strange ritual upon the party - one of the four read from a large tome about Zariel ensnaring the souls of six sinners, and bringing forth the death curse. The ritual left terrible scars upon the left forearms of the party, but was not completed! The party retained their mind and escaped from the dungeon.   From their, the party travelled around Neverwinter to search for information about their affliction and how to undo it, learning the book was an original manuscript by Dahlver Nar - a tome containing the raw creative power from a number of legendary stories. The magic done by the book can only be undone by removing all the magic from the book - reading aloud all the stories from the book in the location they originally took place.
