The Return of Ballustrade

"The multiverse is not so much a quilt or a tree, as it is a growing mass of bubbles. Like the base of a waterfall, or froth coming from a beast's mouth. Sometimes, when a bubble is surrounded by other bubbles, growing and pressing against each other, it will pop, or be absorbed. Unfortunately, it seems that we are in one such universe. And we are being absorbed."   It has been 250 years since the Cataclysm, a global apocalyptic event which sent refugees from around Contritum to Ballustrade, a seaside fortress on the southern coast. The people of Ballustrade were able to remove themselves temporarily into a pocket dimension, however that magic is starting to fade...   Rejoining the world they abandoned is terrifying for some, but incredibly exciting for others. Everyone wants to know three things:   Is it safe after only 250 years? What exactly was the Cataclysm, and what impacts does it have on the present? Is it their moral responsibility to rebuild what is left?
