Blood Money Session 1 - You All Brawl At An Inn

General Summary

It all began, as great stories do, with drugs, gambling, and a tavern brawls.   The first chapter of this misadventure kicks off in Northern Bravia, in a territory that is ran by the Red Sash mercenary company. Hootalin, owlin chemist and part-time pharmacist of both legal and ‘creative’ substances, is smoking opiates atop a cart filled with unregulated narcotics while watching the sea glimmer red under the rising rings of planet Ieria.   Enter Pen Ding, a towering goliath and smuggler for Hootalin, and Rennik, a human in dressed in black who is unknown to Hootalin. But they are all part of the same Mercenary band. They aim to convince Hootalin to let them “take care of” her local competition in the drug trade. Naturally, it comes with strings attached, which would be discussed at the tavern in town.   Meanwhile, at the tavern, the goblin tinkerer Gok and the gnome adventurer Ruffstrom are engaged in a tense game of chance with the half-orc bruiser Grunk Ironhide. Grunk plays like an orc who thinks cheating is part of the rules. Gok plays like a goblin with something to prove. Ruffstrom plays like a man who has read every rulebook and chosen to ignore all of them.   As coin and tempers fly, the groups begin to merge. Pen, Hootalin and Rennik rejoin the others. Tension mounts. Someone says the wrong thing. A chair gets involved. And soon, fists, feathers, and furniture are all airborne. A full-blown bar brawl breaks out—not over gold, not over honor, but over sheer incompatibility of temperament. And also, it is part of the town's tradition.   After the barroom chaos died down, Grunk and Rennik finally revealed their purpose. Mara, a fellow mercenary from their Red Sash company, had been captured by authorities in Aurorhaven, where the mercenary Captains of the Bravian state conduct business. What Grunk knew was that Mara was a liability: she knew everything about the group’s extracurricular drug trade, about Pen and Hootalin’s involvement, and about enough dirt to get the Red Sash burned to the ground. They'd have to go to Aurorhaven, find where Mara was being held, and get her (out) before she talked.   Ruffstrom decided to involve a "friend" of his, drinking partner and dangerous vibe giver, the Drow Larnala.
