Season 3: Session 14: After the Fire Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Intuition 19th, 997 AC (Monday).   Waking after a restless night, the party emerges to Little Town rebuilding.   A temporary board of tasks is set up before the Town Hall.   Cecil and Thia stop by the hospital first, checking on Opal and the kids. Opal is still in a state of shock, believing she is in the shop selling her wares. While there, Cecil sees that Marcus has magic around his head. He suspects it is what is keeping him unconcious.   Grandad stops by the inn, checking on the state of things. A harried Naomi and Sam say all is well.   The party regroups and decides to help with wood cutting. They head out of town and meet Steven at a camp in the woods, a quarter day from town. Steven has marked the trees that Kilstrom is allowing them to cut down. Taking axes, the party splits up. Grandad is the slowest of the bunch. Kobble goes off to the farthest area and accidentally sets off a small fireball, Grandad and Thia notice as he puts out the fire. Kobble then uses mage hand and unseen servant to weild more axes.   Kobble sees Isaac helping and goes to return the letter for Beatrice. He tells him that she is on her way to Little Town. Isaac freaks out and starts running home.   After a full day, the party goes to sleep. They are woken in the middle of the night by a screaming Molly who runs into camp. She claims that a carriage was chasing her and it was trying to eat her. After some searching, no one finds anything. The party tells Molly that her family is in the hospital and she walks home, accompanied by the party.   Date: The Month of Intuition 20th, 997 AC (Tuesday).   Back in town, everyone splits ways to finish resting and the party members indulge in some potions.   Thia drinks a potion that makes her skin glow.   Grandad drinks one that gives him a halo above his head. Then he drinks another that adds a ring of fire under the halo.   Kobble drinks one that makes him heartier. Another that tells him what people have eaten for breakfast. And a final one that makes him temporarily invisible. Mimzy conga lines with him to ensure the party knows where he is.   The party regroups to pick a new task to do. While looking at the options, Ellion offers Cecil a platinum coin in return for drinking one of their potions. Cecil downs the potion and pockets the coin. Vern approaches Grandad, asking where Isaac has been. Cecil butts in and explains that Beatrice is coming and Vern starts running.   The party decides to help Reverend Illiad with digging graves for those who passed. Mary Woo is assisting with digging, while the Reverend is creating a community grave stone for the adventuruers, and an individual one for Tony Clark Sr. Hector is still unacounted for, but is not among the dead.    They are expanding the graveyard to accomodate for the amount of people. Kobble digs quickly, his potions wearing off. Thia digs, her potions wearing off. While working, a flash of light catches everyones attention (other than grandad who is still in a hole, digging slowly). A group of 8 people in Kilstrom armor appear. The lead, a sun elf, asks for directions to town. Kobble uses his mask and cloak to follow them. He overhears their discuss with the Mayor; they are here to investigate the fire and other reports from the area. They are intentionally vague and leave to set up camp near the lake.   Date: The Month of Intuition 21st, 997 AC (Wednesday).   After another rest, a few party members drink more potions.   Thia drinks one that only allows her to speak Goblin (such a biiiig issue), and another that makes her laugh uncontrollably. They both only last for the morning.    Grandad drinks one that brings his shadow to life and it tries to attack him. Grandad easily defeats the shadow and it returns to its natural state.    Kobble drinks one that sprouts him wings for 1 day. Another gives him permanant resistance against necrotic effects.    The party decides to help with debris clearing today. They take wood from the General Store and bring it into the mountain range for a controlled burn.   When reaching for a beam, Ellion catches Kobble's hand and reads his plam. Noting the life line is good, luck is strong, love is short. Cecil jumps in and gets his read as well. His love is strong, life good, luck thin.    Darcy joins Thia and asks her if she regrets anything. Thia gives her an honest answer, with some regrets in recent days. Says that she disappointed the princess of Kilstrom. Darcy says she also regrets things, such as not being more helpful during the fire.    The party continues to clean up the town square, each of them being interuptted by temporal events. Thinking they picked something up, but then it is back in the original spot. Reaching for a charred item and it is on fire once again. Investigating, the area is flooded with magic energy, but is is dissipating as the debris is moved.    After a day of hard labor, the party splits ways and goes to rest for the evening.   TO BE CONTINUED...
