Season 3: Session 21: Time Rewind Report
General Summary
Date: The Month of Intuition 28th, 997 AC (Wednesday). Having just reversed through time, Cecil appears the only one to remember the conflict that appeared. Thia, in the throne room, invisible, sees the drow aid come out of the dining room. He's seems a bit paranoid. Ellisar yells at him, calling him James, to get more tea and he returns to the hallway going to the left room rather than the right. Trying to come up with a new tactic, Cecil, Thia, and Grandad chill, invisible and flying, in the hallway. Kobble outside the library, gets a scroll and a note from his deity. With this information in hand, he climbs back up the the hallway and enters into the barracks. He prompty sets a few beds on fire and hides in the chimney. Thia, Cecil, and Grandad notice the smoke coming out of the barracks and disregard it to open the door. They squeeze through unnoticed. Frightened by the fire, a guard bursts into the throne room and calls for evacuation. The Crazed Mage stops laughing. He looks up, and looks directly at Cecil (despite his invisible status). Cecil approaches him and casts Remove Curse on him again. Before time rewinds, Hector pulls a pocket watch out of his breast pocket and says "Use it against me, please." As time goes back, everything resets to the moment before Thia opens the door. No one seems to remember the last iteration. Time begins to follow the same track as before, until Kobble gets a scroll and a message from his deity. Kobble's reaction changes and he quickly moves to the throne room hallway. He uses the scroll in the hallway, setting off a Fireball. This causes Thia and Grandad to both lose their focus and they start to fall, along with Cecil, and become visible again. Quickly thinking, Cecil pretends to be ethereal and warns the soldiers against the wrath of Erif. The soldiers in the hallway flee. Regrouping, Mimzy comes out and confirms that there was a time rewind. She describes the one that Cecil recalls. The party begins discussing options; focusing on Ellisar or Hector, sneaking or not. They decide to go in sneaky, all invisible (except Kobble). They are about to try and open the door when it squeaks open from the inside. The aid, James, steps out and sees Kobble. He begins to panic, but when he turns away he forgets Kobble is there. James tries to get Kobble to go away, hitting at him as he describes two time loops and too much fire. While arguing, Cecil pushes open the door enough for Thia, Grandad, and him to sneak in. Kobble convinces James to go back and fetch Ellisar tea. James closes the door, leaving Kobble and Mimzy in the hallway. Thia sneaks into the kitchen and puts a potion into the tea; James takes a sip and begins giggling uncontrollably. He returns to the dining room to Ellisar. Cecil and Grandad go into the dining room with Thia and all attack Ellisar (becoming visible Righteousness deals the final blow. Righteousness tells the party that this is the 2nd time, time has looped. Kobble manages to get into the throne room, and the Crazed Mage is no longer laughing. He's looking directly at Kobble. The rest of the party leaves the dining room as Kobble hides behind a pillar. Combat ensues. Highlights:
