Season 3: Session 13: Fire in Town Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Intuition 18th, 997 AC (Sunday).   Returning to Little Town, the party jumps to action to help put out the fire in the Town Square originating from the combined building holding the General Store and Carpentry Shop.    Cecil goes to the Hospital to help, an heals the Lightwriter family (Molly and Hector not accounted for).   Thia rushes into the flames to look for survivors. No one left alive in the General Store, no one in the Sherrif's office, and in the Carpentry Shop she found the suspected remains of Tony Clark Sr. She drags the body out of the building.    Grandad prioritizes his burning home and gets some others to assist him, including Kobble who uses magic to carry 6 buckets in total.    After the fire is under control, the party regroups.    Thia send a message to Marcus and Hector. She gets a response from Marcus, "not now."    Cecil usese detect magic to look at the smoldering remains and the air is heavy with magic. All of the sudden he is seeing the initial explosion, feeling the heat. Then he is back in the present. He goes back one last time to the intial explosion before returning. Chatting with the townsfolk, they all note feeling strange right before the fire broke out.    They see Deputy Don coming out of the Hospital with a head injury. He crumples to the ground, not breathing. Cecil revives him (after getting a complimentary diamond from Ellion) and they get him back into the hospital. He remains unconcious.    Doctor Tom tasks the party to get bandages from the General Store basement, and they are able to retrieve them with no issue due to Kobble's amazing digging skills.    In the square Kobble feels a shake in the ground and feels drawn to look at the Town Hall. He sees Mayor Willow talking to a figure obscured in the doorframe.    Poppy borrows Thia to get some more drinking water from the bar, and on the trip she finds some looters in the bar drinking the ale. She tells Sarah and Poppy and they prompty kick the looters butts and throw them in the basement (due to the lack of an available jail).    Suddenly the sheriff's office crumbles and pins Isaac. They party is able to release him quickly due to Thia's telekenesis, after a bit of a mishap with Kobble misplacing his seeing-eye-rock.    Opal walks out of the Hospital carrying Zayne (unconcious) and she is acting as if everything is normal despite her and her sons' injuries. Grandad has to use suggestion to get her back into the building. The party all come to ask them about what happened. Caleb wasn't sure what happened, but knows Molly went to the woods before the fire. Opal is convinced everything is fine (in a state of shock). They are unable to get any valuable information, and decide to check in with her at a later time.    Ellion borrows the group to take potions to the hospital. Talks about how their involvment with Ellisar helped bring this to fruition. Tells that Ellisar is living in Qwiv, not sure of his birthplace. Currently Ellisar is still in the Kilstrom capitol.    After they drop off potions, Reverend Illiad has the party retrieve a cart from the Peterson Farm. While there, Vern tells them that Issac didn't cause the fire. They believe him.    After the party stops being dragged this and that way, Mayor Willow drags them once more to her office. She asks them to find Marcus, a witness saw two figures run into the mountain range after the fire started.    Before heading out, both Kobble and Thia donate large funds to help rebuild Little Town and give support to the people affected.    Going into the range (after a shopping montage), they come across the fork; one leading to the Earth shrine, the other deeper towards Riktor town. Thia and Kobble notice a muddy bott down the path to the Earth shrine, when they go and check, nothing is there. Then they see an arm, the same arm Kobble saw in the Town Hall earlier. Going to it, nothing is there.    Then they see the shrine, with Sheriff Marcus lying at the foot of it. His pistol is in hand, and a platinum coin just out of his grasp. The coin disappears after a moment. They watch as Marcus's injuries heal themselves, but he remains unconcious.    They bring him back to the hospital to recover, and finally call it a night.    TO BE CONTINUED...
