Season 3: Session 17: The Key Card Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Intuition 23rd, 997 AC (Friday).   On the evening of the 23rd, Thia went to Grandad's home and pulled a card from the Deck of Many Things.    She pulled the Key Card, and pruning sheers appeared in her hand.    While still together, Grandad drinks a potion and can only speak Goblin for a few hours.    Date: The Month of Intuition 24th, 997 AC (Saturday).   In the morning, everyone can hear the church bell ringing - which has never rung before.   Before leaving, Thia drinks a potion that allows her to walk through walls (for 7 days).   Kobble casts Wild Magic before heading out, and nothing happens (as he has no money, womp womp).    The party sees that the Kilstrom Guard has doubled in size. They are barring entrance to the mountain range, and everyone else is gathered in the Town Square while Captain Risingsun makes a speech. She explains that Little Town is under Kilstrom Control and the mountain range is closed for the foreseeable future on compand of the royal family.    Everyone begins to disperse and the party sees the Sheriff Marcus is standing and lucid. He walks with Mayor Willow into the Town Hall and closes the door.    Thia and Cecil go to find Deputy Don, and ask about Caleb. He says Caleb hasn't been seen recently, but Cecil recalls seeing him heade East towards the mountain range. Thia tries to send a message to Caleb and it bounces back, repeating it exactly.    Kobble wants to speak to Marcus and Grandad comes with him. Going into the Town Hall, Marcus says he remembers everything. He recounts the events of following Hector and why he ended up in his state of statis. He suggests the party go with the Kilstrom Guard to take down Hector. Also he wants his gun back - he won't arrest Kobble if it's returned.Kobble begins going around and asking everyone if they have seen the gun, Grandad sneakily removes the gun from the bag of holding and drops the bag. Kobble reclaims his bag. Grandad confesses that he has the gun, and he isn't going to give it back.   Thia and Cecil go to Ellion and picks up the items Thia requested to keep Cecil alive. Thia gives him a few, but keeps the rest for herself.    The party regroups and Mimzy tells Grandad to give the gun back. He gives it back to Kobble, and then Kobble sneaks it back to Marcus.    The party decides to work with the Kilstrom Guard in order to get free access into the mountain range. They talk to Captain Risingsun and she permits them to join a reconnaissance mission with a group of guards. They sign up as civilians and wait to group up with the guard.    Before leaving in the evening, the party spilts up to tie up some loose ends.   Thia goes to the hospital and asks (mentally) Opal her favorite moment of Hector; it is of their wedding night, she was pregnat with Caleb and Hector is finishing a crib.    Kobble goes to the church and offers a prayer for Ahovz, he offers a ring, but it is not taken.    The party regroups, and drink some potions.   Grandad has one that gives him resistance to fear.   Thia drinks on that makes her feel ill if consuming alcohol.    Kobble drinks one that gives voice to all of his inner thoughts for one day. This allows Thia to speak through his mind, and her "voice" will be audible.    Grandad drinks one and he disappears for 6 seconds. He appears in a black void and sees a tiefling, Diligence, behind a table. She sees him, asks if he's physically present, and then Grandad is no longer in the void and is standing before the party once again.    Going to the mountain range, they meet the guard. Led by Commander Leaflet (human, male). He is accompanied by Nicle (human, woman), Distain (tiefling, woman), Knuckle (dwarf, male), and Sally (human, woman).    Traveling at night, they make it to the first well in the mountain range. At the well they see a circle of light, and see Caleb laying at the foot of the well. Inside the circle it is daytime. The bucket on the rope comes up, but then falls back down. Thia tries to go in to grab him, but is reversed out of the space. Cecil tries as well, and is reversed out. Then Cecil goes in and stops the well handle, and everything freezes. Thia teleports Caleb out of the space and the time bubble dissipate.    Distain takes Caleb and leaves the group to take him home.    The rest of the party sets up camp for the night, and Cecil goes to Grandad to pull from the Deck of Many Things.   TO BE CONTINUED...
