Season 3: Session 24: Time Stops
General Summary
Date: The Month of Intuition 28th, 997 AC (Wednesday).
Having loced away Hector's magic, the party speaks with Hector. He reveals that Ellisar had sent a battalion to the Capitol and they will arrive in the next few days to begin a seige. No longer a powerful chronomancer, Hector believes the group will begin to fall apart like the last war did, but he cannot gaurantee it as he is unsure what Ellisar promised them (when he was still alive and headed).
The party wants to test if the castle will be frozen if the watch leaves the space but there are still a number of soliders outside the castle waiting for an imaginary meeting that James said was going to occur. THey go up to the balcony and stays out of view. Grandad, holding onto the watch, goes onto the balcony last and they see time freezes inside. He then puts the watch back inside and time begins again. Grandad gives the watch to Thia, who then hides it inside of Grandad's bag of holding. The party begins scheming on what to do next, and the worry of the many soliders comes up again. Kobble tries to cause a distraction and casts fireball into the crowd, then jumps down to the courtyard. He takes the brunt of the soldiers wrath, but slowly they start noticing the frozen time inside the castle and begin fleeing. Kobble jumps into the main door, freezing in place. More of the guards notice this and begin running away. Per Cecil's command, James makes a speech telling the remaining soldiers to join the battalion going to Kilstrom and they leave, leaving just the party, their companions, and Hector at the castle. As one solider is rushing off, Cecil grapples them and throws them into the entryway. It's an older elven man that might pass off as a Crazed Mage knockoff. The party regroups (having pulled Kobble out of the castle) and quickly split up again to have private conversations. Thia pulls aside Kobble, but Cecil won't leave them alone, afraid Thia might do somthing. Thia asks Kobble about his faith, his purpose and begins to ruminate on her own perspective of life. In the meantime, Grandad and Grandad discuss redecorating the castle. Thia and Cecil take a side bar, while Mimzy comes to Kobble to play pat-a-cake, and discuss future goals and how their views have been diverging. This sends a message to Princess Issa, warning her of the incoming battalion. The party regroups and decides to renter the castle as a group; no one knows who has the watch (Thia sends a message to Grandad informing him that he has it). Entering together, time starts again, till Grandad steps back out the door leaving the party frozen in the entryway. Grandad pulls Kobble out and asks him to help him build a portal. While building, Kobble recieves a note and a flat red gem. After completing the archway, Grandad gives Kobble the watch and Kobble gives him the flat red gem. Grandad steps through the portal with the ring of the copper bell and returns to his home country, Advig. Kobble takes the bell off the portal and destroys the arch. TO BE CONTINUED...
