The Paths Which Lie Forward Report

General Summary

• The party picked up after the combat with Misandra the Owlbear, and her cubs.
• Jade approached Taldric as he sat over the only surviving cub from Jade's slaughter and felt his bloodlust craving to add one more to the slaughter.
• Some words are exchanged between the two, Taldric specifically mentioning something along the lines of killing a child.
• Just as a tipping point is reached in the conversation, the mysterious shadowy figure appears behind Jade with an arrow sticking out of its neck this time.
• Jade seeing this immediately snapped out of his bloodlust and began to back away apologizing.
• The shadowy figure began to walk away towards the waterfall.
• The party began questioning Jade and what that shadowy figure had to do with everything going on.
• Before leaving to follow the shadow, Misandra's soul visibly traveled from her body and was assumed into Jade's body.
• Jade getting a stronger feeling in his gut of the bloodlusted emotions he was going through prior.
• The party embarked after Dreamys began ripping feathers out of Misandra's corpse.
• Upon reaching the waterfall, the party discovered a path beneath the waterfall. A straight shot down to the other side with enough room for a single file line to go across.
• After reaching the middle, the party came across what looked to be a ritual room with an eye in the middle of the floor. Out of the eye rose a pedestal that on one side, contained a shadowy stick that could phase through physical objects. 
• Jade knows this stick as the weapon he saw in his visions he gained from the soul of Misandra. 
• Daggoss found inscribed into the head desk the name "Elyndor". 
• Dreamys also discovered scorch marks on one side of the desk and its chair.
• Shortly after, the shadowy figure made itself known at the entrance to the ritual room.
• It peeled back its visage to reveal the face of a child. 
• It discussed with the party about destiny, the changing of times, and how Jade is interlinked with the Harvester. 
• The Harvester isn't a person or a creature, it was a weapon. A weapon that seems to be fragmented into different pieces of souls. 
• Jade possesses one of these fragments himself, the other two being gained from the Ghostly Serpent at the Old Mill, and another from the soul of Misandra. 
• One more piece is missing from the weapon for it to be summoned, but where could it be... 
• The party is soon interrupted by blood curdling screams coming from outside at the end of the waterfall where they entered. 
• It's Sylara, the Drow wizard that was sent after Tony. 
• Her arm is twisted and morphed into this elongated pure bone claw appendage and her face droops down as if her skin were to fall off at the slightest brush. 
• She tells Dreamys she doesnt know whats happening to her and that she slaughtered her Vanguard while they were stalking the party waiting for an opening. 
• She begs to be killed before she turns into something that isnt herself. 
• The party moved along shortly after, leaving the other side of the waterfall and making their way to the Spider Forest where they encountered some of the hostile fauna almost immediately and were encroached upon by a swarm of Arachnophagus Skydancers that covered the sky and turned it dark. 
• We left of shortly after the party caught sight of the swarm.
