Wouldn't Be The First Time... Report

General Summary

• The party started out back in the main chamber with Ghel the Gouger staring at them while sitting on top of a pile of goblin bodies. She makes no word as she just stares forward at the party eating more jerky.
• Almost immediately everyone notices down the main path a green Kobold named Gex who had traveled in with these goblins to pursue the party.
• Screeching can be heard in the distance. The band of goblins Ghel had slain were followed up by 5 boneclaws.
• Gek was given a brief run down to avoid these boneclaws should they catch up with the goblins.
• Ghel grabbed Gunter and Dreamys (Against her will) and dragged them toward the sound of the screech. Ordering everyone to go through the main chamber doors and close them.
• She'd buy them time with the 2 assissting her.
• With an assurance that she'll catch up, the party entered into the chamber room with a shallow pool and a caved in ceiling that ramped up to the surface. The same komodo dragon esque lizards from earlier watch the party intently.
• With the doors shut, a blue hue washes over it as a loud click can be heard from the inside of the door.
• Morgan wasting no time casted speak with animals and bought the party an hour in the chamber while the lizards scurried off elsewhere.
• The party proceeded to gain loot from the chamber pool room gaining a plethera of nifty magical items and 2 specialized weapons for a Barbarian and a Paladin.
• Shortly after looting, a projection appeared on the pool before the party.
• A female Vedalken that introduced herself as Seraphina Frostwhisper. One of the worst members of the Council to have appeared on the projection.
• She treated the party with cold and callousness, but she is not one to break the rules of the Vedalken people despite her personal feelings.
• She informs the party that the pool before them offers protection from the Spire's blasts.
• The party drank from the pool and proceeded onward in the Ward.
• The party settled in for a long rest (Used Daggoss' Tiny Hut).
• During this long rest Jade was visited by the shadow child again, however his spirit was out of his body. After a very brief conversation the shadow child woke up the other members of the party exclaiming that Baelor had lost his connection to his magic.
• Saying now is the opportune time to strike, the party was thrust into a dark chapel made of obsidian.
• Lying in the back on a regal chair and hurled over his staff was Baelor. Exasperated.
• The party fought hard and messed Baelor up good.
• Had Baelor had more time to prepare his new chamber, perhaps things would have went differently.
• As the fight drew near its conclusion Baelor let out a shriek as the party was pushed away from him 10 feet. He raised his hands and made a hand sign, opening a domain.
• New terrain formed around the party as gravestones appeared before each party member, and popping up out of them were people who had passed in the party's lifetime.
• Baelor turned to Taldric. "You care about that one, yes?" As he looked towards Tony.
• In the mind of Tony something whispered in his mind. A word that couldn't be understood in any kind of language spoken in the realms. Serenity washed over him as everything went blank, and his body collapsed to the floor.
• The shadow child reapearred.
• Fearing death for the party, he attempted to pull the party back to their original bodies.
• The party refused, minus Morgan (Who was paralyzed and Gex who didnt care about what was going on).
• The shadow child exclaimed: "You're going to die!"
• Taldric: "Wouldn't be the first time"
• It wasn't long after that Baelor was defeated, however as the skin eroded from his body his skeleton gave a villanous laugh as everyone was yoinked back by the child.
• The party awoke and Tony's body lied limp on the ground before them.
• Tony is dead.
• The party moves forward throughout the rest of the ward with no resistance from the spire thanks to the Bastion's pool of water.
• They make it to the spire pad and come to find Sheng Ha chatting with a Vedalken butler and she seems irritated.
• The butler wants 1000 gold for people to use the pad.
• Some chatting and shenanigans were had and the gold was paid.
• The party began their ascent to the Spire.
• As the ascended they breached back through to the material plane and everything was dark with layers of ash covering the skies. The Eldertree could be seen off in the distance still burning bright.
• Jet engines could be heard approaching the party. As they looked around a man in full armor flew up to them and brandished a gun on his side.
