Location: Lebrook, Menione - Alleyway

Tern finished Slapping the child awake.

Round 1

Before Tern could do anything else to the child, Philiann cast Hold Person on Tern, who was unable to resist the spell.
Kuu stepped over and gently touched Tern's extended arm to attempt to calm them down.
Nyxara runs to the crying girl in an attempt to calm her. When Nyx reaches out to the child, she moves away.
The elusive force behind Tern's actions has proven incapable of breaking the spell.
Ladrón quickly pulls out his rapier and aims it at Tern's throat, "You really going to kill a girl that delivered a package!?"
Vaela spots a woman rushing toward the alley, children trailing closely behind. In that moment, their eyes meet, sparking an undeniable connection. Vaela steps out into the street.
Soalgo reacts to Varela's comment and quickly casts a prestidigitation to clean up the child. He asks everyone to take it down a notch and then places a hand on Tern's shoulder.
The fiery redhead moves past Vaela and glares at her. Kuu and Soalgo recognize the woman. She quickly gets between them and the child. She yells out to the oldest child to grab the guards.

Round 2

Philiann tosses her platinum and gold pouch into the middle of the alley near the group and says aloud, "I'm out!!!"

Kuu worked to calm the situation by confidently stating they possessed the necessary evidence and the traumatic event that happened to Tern.

Nyxara is courageously confronting her childhood trauma and actively exploring paths to heal and empower herself. Through this journey, she seeks not only personal growth but also the strength to help others facing similar struggles.

Ladrón goes towards Nyxara and casts a protective spell to help calm her down.

Vaela casts Hold Person on the child running for the guards and the mother bear. Knowing they are incapacitated, she approaches the child.

Soalgo faces Tern, casts Produce Flames, and threatens Tern, "Calm down or burn!"

The orphan kids begin attempts to attack Vaela with snow cones and yell at her.

Mamma Bear and the older kid break free from Hold Person. Mamma Bear threatened whoever cast that spell would have their throat torn out.

Round 3

Philiann walks out of town.
Kuu attempts to de-escalate the situation. She says, "I'm sorry, Miss. My uncle didn't mean to attack her. He thought the child was pickpocketing."
Nyxara raises her hands and says, "Mam, we're trying to help." The Mamma Bear believes that Nxyara is trying to help.
Tern crumples to the ground, burdened by a torrent of emotions, as they finally escape the grip of the spell.
Ladrón accidentally touches Mamma Bear while trying to place an item on her. His face turns beet red, and he quickly apologizes.
Vaela tried to grab the child, running toward the guard, but the child was too quick for her to catch.
Soalgo keeps his Produce Flame and kneels to a collapsed Tern. "I'm sorry, but it's still not acceptable to do this to a child. There might still be a way to save Sprig."
A swarm of children eagerly rushes to catch Vaela, and only one succeeds in clinging to her leg.
Vaela managed to grasp the older kid as he tried to run further down the street.
Mamma Bear steps back, shielding the young girl behind her. A few drops of acid drip from her fingertips as She prepares to defend herself and the child. However, as she left Soalgo's space, he purposely shoulder-checked her, causing her to lash out violently toward him. Kuu attempted to get hit instead of Soalgo.
The guards have turned the corner and notice a drow and a bunch of children assaulting her, yelling for help.

Round 4

Kuu attempted to be dramatic by yelling, "Please don't hurt me! Somebody help!"
Nyxara causes tremors in the ground and yells, "WAIT!" as she deals with internal struggle.
Tern collapses upon themself.
Ladrón set a device to record anything that the Mamma Bear will say moving forward.
Vaela attempts to slap manacles on the oldest child, but he manages to dodge the attempt.
Soalgo dramatically screams, "This lady is crazy! She's going to hurt the kids!" then whispers to Tern, "This is the steelflags bitch!" In an attempt to get Tern to do something.
Mamma Bear slowly steps back from you and says, "Any of you come closer to me or touch me, I will strike you down." Ladrón records that statement.
The protagonist child successfully breaks free from Vaelas's hold, demonstrating their resilience and determination.
The other kids are emotionally invested and keep assaulting Vaela.
The guards rush over to Vaela and begin to question her.
- Vaela seems to be familiar with the children and wants to talk to the orphan's mother, who is behaving violently towards her friends.
- The guard dashes to the alley entrance and yells, "Everyone stop what you're doing!"
The guards inform everyone that they're all under arrest until they can sort things out.
Bishops from the Temple of Helm wander onto the scene.
- Vaela was able to lip-read the conversation between the guards and Helmites.
  - Basically, the Helmites have tracked a piece of Sprig to this location.

Round 5

On the ground, Kuu cries out to the guard, "We did nothing to her, and she attacked us!! She's lashing at us."
Nyxara said, "Sir, I understand you need answers," while pointing to Soalgo. "But this man requires medical attention."
Ladrón mentions that he has her threatening us in a recording. "You can hear it clearly that she's going to kill us."
Vaela told the guard, "Joshua is being really dramatic right now...", playing on her familiarity with the children.
Soalgo points out the acid claws to the guard and then goes full Karen.
- "She might attack us again! I need medical attention! I need this recorded! I want to press charges! We were trying to help her and save the kid and my friend is emotionally distressed. They might need therapy."
The kids relax, and Joshua runs back to the alley.
Mamma Bear, with her hands up, said, "These people assaulted and kidnapped Matilda here. I only defended myself by striking, "gesturing to Soalgo, "with my claws.
The guards arrest everyone to get to the bottom of the situation.
The guards make sure to separate the parties.

Soalgo gets a full medical examination and treatment for his wounds.

Vaela, Ladron, Nyxara, Tern

Location: Lebrook, Menione - Temple of Helm

Vaela & the gang feel that Momma Bear is in on the package.
Ladron believes that Momma Bear was watching the group.
Ladron tries to recall what orphanages are operated in the area, but he believes this is a privately funded orphanage.
Nyxara reflects on the moment to determine if the lady gave her bad vibes.
- She believes a mother should know what is inside the package for the child's safety.

Kuu

Location: Lebrook, Menione - Temple of Helm

He requests a beer from the guard after the guard asks if she wants anything to drink.
The guard asks Kuu which one of those people is her guardian.
- Kuu replies, "It's Soalgo."

Soalgo, Nyxara, Ladron, Vaela, Tern

Location: Lebrook, Menione - Temple of Helm

They asked Soalgo if he would like to be present to hear Kuu's statement.
- Soalgo replies, "Yes, and to have our lawyer present."
- Soalgo asked for a book of available lawyers.
Soalgo asked, "Have you discussed a defense strategy?"
- The group huddles up together as they fear people are watching them.
  - They investigated the room to see if it was bugged.
  - Convinced that the room was fine. The group discussed their next steps.
  - They discuss a plan and attempt to be on the same story as their perception of the "truth."
  - Soalgo would like to press charges on Ms. Hancock, aka Momma Bear, and attempt to get removed from running the orphanage.
  - Talked about getting individual lawyers or being represented by a single lawyer.
    - If they are tired together, they could suffer the same fate.
  - Ladron argues that they should all go down as a group.
  - Vaela doesn't believe in the law of the land, only the law of her god.
  - Soalgo is convinced that the Steelflags will attempt to kill them in jail or prison.
    - Vaela does wonder how many guards are on the payroll of the Steelflags.
  - Soalgo mentions that he still has business in the city, so please try not to kill anyone
  - There were brief talks about ways to escape.
    - But, settled to sit and wait to get an attorney.
Thormond McKinnion's room to discuss the events and to see if they're willing to cooperate.
- He mentions that they talked about the child who was assaulted.
- He asked to see if they wanted to give their statements.
- He tosses a book of lawyers to Soalgo.
- Ladron, Nyxara, & Kuu will be discharged.
  - Kuu will be leaving with Ladron and Nyxara.
  - The victim had mentioned those three didn't do anything offensive.
- Soalgo argues that he is the actual victim.
- He informs them of the charges.
  - Soalgo: Charged with an attempt of kidnapping.
  - Tern: Charged with Assault and attempt of kidnapping.
  - Vaela: Charged with an attempt to kidnap and possibly cast a spell.
    - Vaela admits to casting a spell.
    - The Bishop suggests having to have a lawyer present.

Potential Charges

Thormond McKinnon relayed the potential charges to Tern, Soalgo, and Vaela. The investigators are waiting for all parties to inform them of their side of events to officially press charages.

False Imprisonment

False Imprisonment involves unlawfully violating "the person liberty of another" through violence or menace. "Violence' means using physical and/or arcane force that is greater than the force reasonably neccessary to restrain someone"; "menace means a verbal or physical threat of harm." False Imporsonment is essentially a form of kidnapping that always involves using force or threat. If you're conviceted of False Imprisonment, the penalty may be:

A term of up to three (3) years in a prison; OR;
A fine of up to 1,000 gold pieces; OR;
Both a fine and imprisonment.
