• Pierre attempts to gain a perspective on the beast they're trying to hunt.
• But ends up displacing the tracks.
• Gai is confused by what Pierre is attempting to do.
• Vaela pushes Pierre out of the way and ushers the group to follow the tracks before Pierre destroys them all.
• Ladron notices some additional claw marks that are a few days old.
• Lardon notices a large tree trunk indent in the forest floor.
• Pierre climbs up that tree.
• Pierre notices birds that got spooked by something.
• While up the tree, Pierre decides to jump from tree to tree.
• He falls on his face.
• Ladron uses the indent from Pierre and compares it to the found indent.
• Xan uses Gai's eyes to get closer to the location that Pierre pointed out.
• She couldn't see anything through Gai's eye, but heard a slight whistling scream.
• Vaela smells iron on the wind and hears a whistling scream.
• Xan comments about the sounds, and Vaela responds that it could be killing something.
• Xan does nonverbal communication poorly with the group.
• She wanted to ask the group to have the fox go ahead and do recon.
• Xan has Gai move ahead of the group.
• Gai spots a stag lying on the ground.
• Others begin to spot it and walk to the dead animal.
• Pierre goes to the body to examine, and he notices two puncture marks.
• Pierre looks around the surrounding area.
• Pierre, Ladron, and Vaela notice two shadowy figures in the distance.
• Pierre picks up Ladron and then climbs up the tree to get a better vantage point on the figures.
• The figures look directly at Pierre and Ladron.
• The two figures, plus a hidden third, bolt away from the party.
• Pierre and Ladron inform the party about the people and begin running after them.
• Vaela mentions that they're not here to hunt people, but Pierre and Ladron ignore her.
• The rest of the party begins to follow Pierre and the Ladron, but at different speeds.
• Xan matches Pierre's pace and asks him, "What the hell are you doing?"
• Ladron notices that they're not gaining on the shadowy figures.
• Xan again yells at Pierre to slow down!
• A monstrous creature suddenly attacks Vaela, who was lagging, and in a single round, Vaela falls.
• The party stops their chase long enough to see the creature begin to pick up Vaela.
• Pierre uses his supernatural monk speed to get up to the beast nearly.
• Tern launches a barrage of arrows.
• And the creature beings to run away, but attempts to use its tail to go after Ladron.
• Ladron uses his brain for once and casts a ray of frost to slow the beast down.
• Pierre catches up to the beast and attempts to wrestle it to the ground.
• The beast retaliates by nearly killing Ladron with its scorpion tail.
• Enough damage was done to the beast for it to drop Vaela.
• But Vaela vomits blood, and she is close to death.
• Ladron uses his mage hand to attempt to maneuver a heal potion to Vaela's mouth.
• Vaela is revived from that potion.
• But Tern finishes off the beast.
• The party begins to heal and to gather a trophy as three figures land in front of them.
• The central figure quickly brought out a scroll, and the corpse vanished.
• Tern recognizes the symbol on the masks of the three.
• They are members of that moon cult.
