100 years have passed since the wandering age began and so it continues on. It is in this moment as the wandering age departs its infancy that a new story begins. In the disaster left in Xathum's wake the many beings of the world saw a multiplicity of things. Some saw darkness. For what else is there to see in an age where the gods themselves may die? Others saw hope and a chance for redemption. A god had crashed to the earth and sacrificed themselves in order for them to have a second chance. But among both the Eshan and mortal realms alike there were also many who saw something different in this new and uncertain age. Opportunity. With the vast sea of humanity cut adrift from their dead gods the other Eshan saw an opportunity to increase their own standing by bringing them under their own protection. Likewise, many a cunning mortal has seen the that religious rituals and practices have taken on a new and more fervent meaning for so many. One such ritual of great importance is about to take place. After the death of Corgastor the goddess of the Elivas, Mesian, out of deference for his sacrifice took many a willing human under her divine protection. This pact has brought a stability to the lands that followed it sheltering from much of the chaos that befall the more eastern human lands during the beginning of the wandering era. Each year this pact is celebrated at a ritual festival grounds on the border of Elivas and human territory with individuals coming from far and wide to participate. Major cities will often assemble pilgrimage caravans that will then process to the grounds of the ceremony over the course of a few short weeks. It is with the departure of one such caravan towards the border, the caravan from the Kingdom of Grathem, that our story begins.
