FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION...

A prelude: You are alone, walking down a well worn road made of ancient bits of inlaid stone and gravel...The North Road. Your travels have brought you here, to a small trail on the outskirts north of the hamlet of Sevenecho... You come to a small but ornate metal sculpture of an M and L, cut into each side of a large double axe blade. Standing roughly 3 feet tall and perched upon a gleaming block of white marble, it is a stark contrast to the icher black paint covering its wrought iron body. The invitation presented to you a month previous had the same seal...though surrounded in a ring of ivy. Pulling the envelope from your pocket, you stare at the parchment in disbelief...how did I come to receive this? What does one of the oldest Adventurers Guilds in the Realms want with me? Reading the parchment, this is the spot and the day where you were requested to appear. As you step nearer to the sculpture, the parchment and envelope fly from your hand, and burst into ethereal green flame. The embers swirl and twinkle about in the air before shaping themselves into a ring of smouldering ivy around the axe blades. They begin floating some 40 ft away; falling upon and surrounding a single knee high grey stone. The glimmering embers flash brightly, slowly a shimmering wall melts revealing an 8 ft oval ring of knee high stones. You watch as glyphs on the stones begin to glow one by one until all seven radiate with a pale light. You hear a voice...but a whisper upon the wind. "Enter...and be received" Every neophyte of the Mithril League begins their service the same way...are you willing to take the first steps toward your destiny?

A Dungeon's and Dragons 5e Campaign set in the Forgotten Realms
Our story begins in the spring of 1357 DR in an area of Faerun known as The Vast. A green and temperate realm of hunting grounds and rolling farmlands, the fields used to grow a myraid of crops or for the grazing of herds. The farms and fields were separated by low fieldstone walls, which were often cultivated as wild hedges where they faced the roads. Amongst these farms were small woodlots and copses, which grew from scrublands left behind by the great old forests of the past. There is no overall government or leaders in the Vast, and no capital city. Instead, it is divided up by a number of city-states and feudal holdings. The cities are mostly governed by councils made up of landowners and wealthy merchants, or dominated by ex-adventurers. These city-states are independent, and stay that way by varying degrees of diplomacy, tolerance of their neighbors, and military power One of these fuedal holdings is an ancient Adventuring Guild known as the Mithril League.
