Session 89: Forest or Plain Report

General Summary

The group starts to mount some horses to move to the spider infested forest. They move past the edge of town and they notice that the builders of the brewery are bagging a body.   Grimmaz explains that the group is heading out of town. Grimmaz requests a full report when they get back from the Black forest to the East.     The group sees a few black elf guards waving. Letting the group know that they have been seen.     The group comes to a split in the road where Anselma finds out that the spiders come from the NE/E .     They decide to go to the Bavarian fort/settlement to take a long rest. When coming close to the gate, they are approached by the guards. After Grimmaz introduces himself, the group is shown to a lodging area.     Marcus (an elf) approaches the group and shares his backstory with Grimmaz, after which Marcus asks Reolus and Anselma for some stories.       The group also meets Viktor Mengele who seems to be the physician in the fortress.     After resting, the group decides to go into the forest to take care of the spiders.   The group find the nest and get in thanks to Reolus finding a piece of spider silk, which Grimmaz burns.   Going in, Anselma shoots & kills a giant spider that comes down. Going on uo they hold back another with a torch.   They soon come across a nest room with eggs in clumps over the floor, walls & roof. Also they are attacked by a Drider which they soon kill.   Grimmaz stamps on the eggs he can get too, while Reolus Misty Steps up to the roof, gets a few more while Anselma uses fire arrows on the remaining.   Moving onwards they eventually come across the main chamber with the Spider Queen on her throne. Spiders are everywhere but split at her command letting them come down. They stop about 15 feet from her.   Grimmaz tries to persuade her to go to the area of the Black Pyramid, but she doesn't accept. He attacks, taking a battering from her toxic claws. He deals a high amount of damage to her with Anselma & Reolus getting a good few hits in. Eventually she dies and Grimmaz decapitates her.   They rest up and let the spiders either flee or fight amongst themselves. Grimmaz has a number of wounds to heal up and starts to.   Afterwards they leave the nest, with Grimmaz swinging the head, and whistling a tune. The rest expect him to hop, skip & jump whie on the way back.    Making it back, Grimmaz hands the head back to the Messenger and receives a money pouch with 100 gold. They they rest up.
