Session 52: Going for the Correct Wyrm

General Summary

Timble wakes up and starts eating half of the Eschbach Shields food. He talks to Josef van Richten and Alcuin van Helsing.

Magnar wakes up and goes across to Arne & Archi waking them up and going round to the Eschbach Shields where Keller follows in straight after.

They all have breakfast and Timble goes to talk again to Josef and Alcuin, where they say they are aware of Adalwolf and the Star Spawn Seer. They can let Timble know if they hear anything further. They also want to go to the site of where Magnar killed the Vampiric Wyrm.

Timble talks to the rest and they decide to lead Josef & Alcuin to the cave.

Getting there Keller hides Archi's horse (who may or may not get a kiss from Archi). Timble climbs op to the cave accidentally placing his hand on a dead goat. He starts to clear goat bodies and a couple of dead boars.

Keller turns into a falcon and flies up while Magnar climbs up. Keller turns back and raises up 4 dead goats and 2 boars as skeletons.

Arne turns into an owl and flies up resting on Keller's shoulder to show off, and Archi shows off by climbing the rope.

Going down into the cavern they see three large boxes in the back and three smaller rectangular boxes to the left. The remains of a vampiric wyrm lies on the right. A smell of chemical smoke hangs in the air.

Timble examines the boxes and notices a marking in the top right of them. A shield design is evident in midnight blue. On it is a red alchemist beaker and a dragon. All three have the the mark. Also, all three of the rectangular boxes have the same mark, and the middle one, placed slightly back than the other, has a small rectangular brown mark too.

Josef mentions that these are linked to the Vampire Nation and used to show that the latter is looking to set up a breeding program here in the Central Massif.

When examining them, a huge vampiric wyrm raises up in amongst the stalagmites & stalactites. Starting combat, Arne places Hex on the wyrm with Keller covering himself in spores and getting ready to fight , and then Timble shoots it, along with using circle of thorns harming it.

Magnar slaps the wyrm doing it further harm, followed by Archi who breaks out his metal spheres and using them killing the wyrm.

Archi harvests the fire breathing organs from the wyrm and Timble examines the rest of the wyrm. Making sure it's dead, it has a saddle on it's back and a harness for carrying the boxes. It also looks as if it has recently in the past 12 hours has laid eggs due to the remains of the discharge.

Josef & Alcuin proceed to open one of the rectangular boxes revealing what is obviously a female Middle Eastern vampire which they stake and cut the head off. Josef goes to the other one on the left and does the same. Both spew blood out of their mouths and scream.

Turning to the middle box, they open it while sounds can be heard inside. An ancient female vampire is inside and they are told by Josef to hold her down while they stake & decapitate her. Timble grabs the feet and Magnar grabs to the top end of her. Magnar take a slight scrape from her bite on his neck.

They stake her, and decapitate her. Then they burn the three boxes and their contents.

Magnar is healed by the rest and still scared he will turn.

Timble takes a crowbar and opens the other boxes. The left one has alchemical equipment, the right one has alchemical reagents. The middle one has three eggs from the wyrm inside.

Archi takes one of the eggs and warned by Alcuin against it. He's told that the wyrms are highly dangerous and predatory, and even the Vampire Nation has specialists to grow & train wyrms. And even then, many are killed trying to dominate them. The incubation is about a month, and Archi will destroy it within 3 weeks. He is given a small vial that contains a blue liquid that dissolves all organic material it touches. It was got from a lone soldier of the Abbasid Caliphate, and after his team got wiped out by a lone Jinn that stalked & killed his unit. Also, Josef & Alcuin has lost one family member and had two injured due to the liquid.

Josef & Alcuin ask to be left for 3 days and will send word if needed, and if they don't return after that time, then to come and find out what happened.

Getting back outside, Archi's horse has had a bit of attention, from 3 wolves. It turns out the wolves are being broken in by Gitzburg goblins to be used for tracking and as mounts. The goblins apologise to Archi and the rest, and make their way off.

Making it back to town, other goblins from Gitzburg are leaving after leaving off the town's taxes.

Emma Duckthorne shouts over to Keller that she has a plain yew staff, and ready to be imbued with power.

Magnar goes to the church, and speaks to Father Tossil, getting blessed to help prevent changing into a vampire.

Archi goes off to the portal to Wynsumheord, going through with the egg. He has it wrapped up and hidden as much as possible even with it being 3 feet or slightly more in height. The defenders know who he is due to Magnar, and let him past. Why he is going through is not known at present.
