Session 41: Going on a Road Trip

General Summary

Arne wakes up Magnar and listens to Magnar's stories about what happened. Arne suspects that they just got drunk way too much and Magnar confirms that can be the case.

Arne tells the story about what happened at the Inn yesterday and explains that it was because he kept playing with the fireplace., all because he is a naughty boy and needs a thorough spanking.

After meeting up with Archi and Timble the group heads to the inn to find the contact person for the Fitzsimons to get a boat.

One partway they visit an inn called The Slinky Siene, there is a group talking about smuggling people out of Southern Britain to escape some sort of purge.

Magnar talks to them and sets up transport to Britain, and Floki the Tramp is the leader of the group. They are members of the Thieves of Frankia.

Smuggled onto a boat, and then onto a ship, they make it by early morning to the southern coast of Southern Britain. Took to the town of Weymouth, they get horses at a stable on the east of the town.

The stable master is pissed with Lambrookshire constantly raiding into the territory to the west. He points them in the right direction saying its about 3 hours away, and they'll notice the town and the mansion Lord Geoffrey lives in. The master also mentions that Lord Geoffrey believes his parents were killed by witches.

Travelling on the road, they are stopped by three guards at the border. They are asked who they are and that if they have any information about witches. Timble manages to deceive them and gets them past. The guards says he'll see them at church on Sunday.

Going onwards, they see the church, then the town, and also the mansion with palisades around it.

After getting to the town centre they arrive at ha hanging of four "witches", three women of different ages, and one middle aged man. Archi looks long enough to say that none are Braga.

Morwenna is noticed standing behind Lord Geoffrey and a priest. The team try to work out where to stay realising that the letter sent to Archi is likely to draw him out and the other member of his coven(Tedha) is still at large. They realise that they need to keep their head down and blend in as much as possible.

Timble talks to a local selling food and tells her a rambling story, but finds out that the group hung was part of a group of six lifted from the west. This seems to happen regularly, with one hung the day before and another, a woman, took to the mansion. The local says it is quite common as the Lord hates mages of all types due to the belief that they are responsible for his parents death. They were travelling home after dealing with locals in the west and something spooked their horses and both were killed when the animals bolted. No-one knows for sure if it was an actual case of witchcraft or a simple accident.

At that point the party decide to risk the local inn called The Crossroads Inn.

Archi asks Timble about his cloaks at, the latter explaining that they remind him of the people he lost. His burrow was attacked and wiped out and the cloaks are all that remained. His now looking for the one who done it.

They will immediately get to work out how to get in to it the following day.....
