Session 30: Decision Time For Granny
General Summary
The group meets the dragon who is now called Slythra. The dragon mentions that the grandma they are investigating is Granny Barrowbye.
The group decides to report to the council, Fleur, Maven, Anselma, and Reolus are at the council.
Once at the council, Arne mentions that the group was asked to investigate the elderly woman. Once the council hears that the woman is suspected of being a hag, the council asks if the hag is related to Adalwolf. The council recognizes that it's Granny Barrowbye. At which point the council is glad that she hid her true form.
Arne mentions that the druids have seen and heard her praying in Sylvan something about breaking with her 2 sisters.
Alfre acknowledges this, after which the council asks if the granny can be trusted.
The council asks the group to bring the granny before the council so that the council can come to a decision to allow the granny to live inside the town or not.
The group heads back to the inn to see if the granny is there, meeting Baldwin, the group gets told that the Granny is out presumably at her usual place.
Once at the bakery Magnar goes up the stairs to the place where Jacob sleeps. There Magnar sees the granny using cantrips to entertain the child Jacob.
Magnar confronts the granny, where Barrowbye mentions that she has seen Magnar and Archi and Arne before. Magnar convinces granny to go with Magnar to the council to explain herself.
Barrowbye conjures up a bird who sings for Jacob the song about the bird is a bird.
Magnar offers Barrowbye his arm and that way Magnar escorts Barrowbye down the stairs.
The group reaches the council.
Once Barrowbye is seated, Anselma starts speaking to Barrowbye.
We know who you are and we can understand why you've got illusion spells on yourself. We're just wondering what your plans are here?
The granny answers;
I want to get away from where I've been. I am originally from the Feywild and I want to leave parts of that behind.
I am just wondering if it's okay if I can spend a good part of the year here. I understand the last thing that people want is hag around and I don't want my sisters to find out what I'm doing.
Reolus leans back and thinks a bit about what granny said.
Granny continues, I was part of a coven with my sisters, but since I met Jacob I don't want to be involved with them anymore.
Archi confirms that part of the story is true at the very least. One where she is leaving the covens that hunt other witches.
After confirming that the Granny isn't planning on anything evil. Reolus continues some questions.
Reolus asks about a hag from the East, which the granny confirms that the person in the East is evil. She is also keeping an eye on this town due to things and that is also why I'm here. I want to protect a certain someone before they get caught in the crossfire.
The hag shares some information out of goodwill.
To the west of the central Mastiff there is a powerful wizard who holds a dangerous book, the Book of Eibon. It can be a dangerous items if the spells out of it are used incorrectly. The spells generally never seam to translate correctly.
She offers to submit information when needed for the long run.
Arne asks about the visitor when they first met.
Barrowbye admitting that they are Baobhan Sith. Mentioning that they have long lasting agreements and promises. They are useful to keep around for certain stuff. Especially their hair can be used to for example use a blood poison speel on them.
The hag mentions that it knows who attacked Archi's coven.
